A US Navy Super DC3 (C47 Skymaster) Dakota crashed here on Saturday Nov 24, 1973. All the crew survived but the wreckage was abandoned.

The wreckage on a stark black lava beach has since become an iconic photographer's bucket list spot.

Its now a 4km walk across black lava sand to the site as car access has recently been forbidden.

For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul...

thanks dash for this incredible song....:-)

Today stripped 751 of useful parts, it only did three weeks back on the road since being stored over winter. It will depart for scrap later this week. A once strong fleet of four Alexander PS's now consists of just one (K779 DAO which by the way is the best one).

Las Vegas Strip

High road in the Las Vegas Valley, Nevada

Lined with upscale casino hotels, the neon-soaked Strip is quintessential Las Vegas. As well as gambling floors, the vast hotel complexes house a variety of shops, restaurants (ranging from mainstream to high-end), and performance venues for music, comedy and circus-style acts. Attractions like the soaring, choreographed Fountains of Bellagio and the High Roller observation wheel draw crowds

Not exactly what I expected to see when I cruised the strip Monday morning.

This from a couple of weeks ago in Naantali. This was my first pick of the 100 or so shots I took, less processed than the earlier photo (http://www.flickr.com/photos/laprimadonna/3805364606/). I like the floating thin strips of cloud at the top.

After a had days work in the typing pool it will be lovely to get out of these sticky clothes...

This would be a good one to colorize.

An old Peacock wood stove in an abandoned house in Brooklyn, Newfoundland (yes, there is a Brooklyn in Newfoundland, apparently because of the numerous brooks that weave through the small community). These stoves were made at the Lunenburg Foundry in Nova Scotia. It's a pity this stove is in this condition as these are beautiful when they are in good shape, and this is an early model.
