???? I noticed today that no one has commented on this photograph...which, to me personally, is interesting. I somewhat had it as a favorite image of mine for a year or two. It was captured during the Tango Show in Buenos Aires where no flash photography was allowed, it was simply hand held, and numerous persons were seated in front of me and blocking the stage. Had to do it with available light and lean around individuals. IF anyone sees the image and reads THIS posting, please let me know if I should pull the image out of my photo stream. Thanks, Tom Driggers

Mamer, Fête de la Musique - Gipsy Kings by Diego Baliardo (FRA/ESP)

The original "Gipsy Kings" band split up in 2014:

- "Gipsy Kings by Nicolas Reyes", led by Nicolas Reyes, the original lead singer, with Tonino Baliardo on guitar.

- "André Reyes ft. Gipsy Kings", led André Reyes (Nicolas' brother), this band also includes members of his family.

- "Gipsy Kings & Chico", led by Chico Bouchikhi, a former member of the original group. However, this group lost the right to use the name “Gipsy Kings”.

- "Gipsy Kings by Diego Baliardo", led by Diego Baliardo.

- "The Gipsy Kings ft. Tonino Baliardo", led by Tonino Baliardo.

Each of these groups claims a part of the Gipsy Kings' musical heritage, offering a diversity of performances and interpretations that continue to attract large audiences around the world.

Macro Mondays • "Pure Joy"

The Rogue Players • "Rock the Arena"

The guitar was my first love as a pre-teen, it brought me pure joy for decades. In the late 1970's and early 1980's playing in many punk rock bands in front of many people in many venues.

My guitars have been collecting dust for decades...

Through encouragement from my family, I once again am discovering the pure joy of creating music.

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 is a supersonic jet fighter aircraft, designed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. It was popularly nicknamed "balalaika", due to its planform-view resemblance to the Russian stringed musical instrument or ołówek (English: pencil) by Polish pilots due to its slender fuselage.

After its first flight in 1955, the MiG-21 was quickly adopted by the Soviet Air Force and became one of the most widely-produced jet fighters in history. It was also adopted by the air forces of more than 50 countries, including China, India, North Korea, Cuba, Egypt, Bulgaria, Romania, East Germany, Vietnam, Angola and Iraq.

The MiG-21 jet fighter was a revolutionary design, combining jet engine and swept wing technology. It was the first jet fighter capable of Mach 2 speed (twice the speed of sound) and held the world speed record for over a decade. The MiG-21 was also known for its exceptional maneuverability and was used extensively in air-to-air combat.

Over 12,000 MiG-21s have been built, making it the most-produced jet fighter in history. The MiG-21 remains in service with many air forces around the world, although it is being phased out in some countries due to its age.

To many people, Music City is just about country music, but our town has a rich and diverse musical heritage that continues to grow. The Music City Youth Orchestra is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a dynamic atmosphere for student musicians in Middle Tennessee to explore a diverse repertoire for string orchestra. This past weekend, I had an opportunity to visit them during a rehersal and take pictures of each musician. To learn more about this fantastic organization, see their website:
