John Nicholas Tobin was a Keighley-based photographer who was active from the late 1940s onwards. According to Ancestry.co.uk, he was born in Gargrave on 3rd July 1906 to parents John and Sarah Tobin. John Tobin had premises at 103 Cavendish Street. His moniker was sometimes simply ‘Tobin’. He took photographs for Keighley Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society, for the Keighley Theatre Group who staged productions in Keighley Little Theatre (later renamed Keighley Playhouse) and for touring companies performing at the Hippodrome. According to his friend Kathleen Procter, John served in the RAF in WWII taking aerial photographs of Germany for surveillance purposes. John died in 1996.

In 2024, Keighley and District Local History Society were given a large set of negatives of photographs taken by John Tobin. Only a minimal amount of information, if any, was written about the negatives and the Society is trying to find out more. The donation was made by Kathleen Procter and the negatives were scanned by Billy Stride.

During a tour of Coverdale Farm Preserve, Secretary Rita Landgraf learns how the Delaware Nature Society's programs there are helping children and families to live healthier lives. For the 27,000 students who visit Coverdale annually, many have ownership of the entire process -- from field to mouth. They plant, they weed, they harvest, they make foods and drinks in the Coverdale kitchen. Children get three things from their experiences at the 352-acre working farm, said Michele Wales, farm program coordinator. “There is a food piece, an exercise piece and a family piece,” she said. Brian Winslow, executive director of the Delaware Nature Society, said, “This is where all of our missions come together.”
