Built 1938 as an economy version of the bogie streamliners, 245 was one of a 100 strong class built at the Corporations Edge Lane works on EMB 9' Flexible Axle trucks and 60hp BTH motors. The controllers were reconditioned ones from scrapped Bellamy cars fitted with the addition of EMB brake interlock boxes. The cars ran well on street track but could be quite alarming on the softer foundations and higher speeds of Liverpool's extensive reserved tracks. Not as well appointed or as fast as their bigger sisters, their economy of operation however meant they survived to the end of tramway operation in 1957.

Built in 1957 in London, an EMD FP9ARM that first saw service as CN 6523. Still working for OSR sixty years later. Reman'd in 1984 to bring it up to 1800hp.
Adam was hunting swirlies. I got ADD and looked up over the rock we were standing on, and just had to shoot up the stream. I think I might have blocked his shot, but he came up and shot the same thing, so I don't feel so bad ;)

In the evening about 6:30 the Chicago & North Western's Streamliner 400 approaches the Farwell Ave. viaduct with back to back E7A's northbound in 1965 or '66.

This is a stunning and rare HOBART Model 410 meat slicer known as the Streamliner. Designed in 1940 by Egmont Arens and Theodore Brookhart this incredible piece of Streamline Moderne is in the collections of the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art - MOMA, the Brooklyn Museum, the Philbrook Museum of Art and numerous other museum collections.
