This is a 1947 Pontiac Streamliner that was on display at the Festival of Trails Car Show held in Gardner Kansas.
Streamlined art deco van. This design is a slightly modified version of Flickr user snaillad's van, which you can find in his photostream. In this picture you can see how the rear door is held together. It's very sturdy.
Darwen "streamliner" ready for journey to Darwen. These were bought from English Electric in 1936. There were two of them known as 'the Queens', Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. In 1946 they were transferred to Llandudno and Colwyn Bay. This photograph was taken in about 1938 with the Adelphi pub in the background.

Built 1938 as an economy version of the bogie streamliners, 245 was one of a 100 strong class built at the Corporations Edge Lane works on EMB 9' Flexible Axle trucks and 60hp BTH motors. The controllers were reconditioned ones from scrapped Bellamy cars fitted with the addition of EMB brake interlock boxes. The cars ran well on street track but could be quite alarming on the softer foundations and higher speeds of Liverpool's extensive reserved tracks. Not as well appointed or as fast as their bigger sisters, their economy of operation however meant they survived to the end of tramway operation in 1957.
The first four locomotives have successfully been turned (the 515 and 1189 were already facing towards the table), which means there are only 14 more to go!
What is very interesting about this locomotive is it wears a ATSF Santa Fe "Steamliner" paint scheme on the long hood of this locomotive although it was never owned by the Santa Fe.
A car that seems almost like a stereotype, the Pontiac Streamliner was the only model the company build during World War II, with production commencing from 1942, and largely followed the same styling cues as its contemporaries, with lots of chrome, and lots of power coming from a Straight-8 Silver Streak engine!
The car is once again a product of the legendary Harley Earl, who you may also know as the designer of the Cadillac Series '62 and the original 1953 Chevrolet Corvette. By that time his inspiration by WWII aircraft such as the P-38 Lightning had changed his styling ideas from contemporary to futuristic, incorporating the streamlined curves and aviation lines of aircraft into his cars.

Nicely and carefully restored Scania. Ready for immediate use, for the time being only shows and promotions.
I found this bike on Ebay to illustrate Streamline Moderne design features in my www.flickr.com/groups/streamlinemoderne/ group.
Saturday afternoon found the following locomotives lined up at the north end of the Roundhouse at Spencer: NKP PA-1 190, SOU E8 6900, Erie E8 833, UP E9 949, and NS F9 4271.
