First shot for Flickr taken with my new toy, an Olympus E-PL6. This shot using a small portable tripod and the kit lens (M.Zuiko 14-42mm 3.5-5.6 II R) with a circular polarizing filter. Good luck getting to this spot, friends - it's a tough place to reach!
A Carlyle bodied Iveco 49-10 of Streamline Buses, Bath. They were by this point owned by First Badgerline although still running as a separate unit.
This bus was new to Streamline and later served as a driving assessment vehicle for First.
A big thank you to the crew and volunteers at the North Carolina Transportation Museum for the Streamliners Event.
Nicely and carefully restored Scania. Ready for immediate use, for the time being only shows and promotions.
Specially repainted for the event, B61 was quite a spectacle for all the visitors and rail enthusiasts at the event as the star attraction of Streamliners 2016
Mechanical engineer Norman E. 1948 Norman E. Timbs Buick Streamliner
Timbs created this dramatic streamliner in the 1940s. He designed the project himself which included a custom aluminum body and steel chassis.
The car was based around a 1947 Buick “Super 8” engine which powered the 2200 lb car to 120 mph. The main chassis was built up from five-inch steel tubes which kicked up over the rear axle. To offer a smooth ride, a modified 1947 Ford suspension was utilized.
Road & Track reported that it took Mr Timbs 2 1/2 years to create the car at a cost of $10,000 USD. The body was created entirely in aluminum by Emil Diedt for $8,000 alone. The shape was formed by hand over a traditional wooden buck.
