In the fall Trout Run can be stacked with large steelhead, trying to swim up stream to spawn.

Here is the Pyrex glass baking pan with four sweet potatoes. They are fresh out of the oven and very hot. You can see the caramelized sugar that oozed out of the sweet potatoes and perfumed the whole house with their delicious sweetness..

I have removed the leftmost sweet potato. I slit it lengthwise, spread it open a bit and start eating with a fork...

crystal clear water in Maine.

Longish exposure of the stream at Portherras Cove, Cornwall.

Two of my father's older sisters spent the last few decades of their lives in a house adjacent to this stream, and it is a place dear in the memories of many of their nieces and nephews, including me. This view was taken from a bridge over the creek nearby, and the house itself is masked by new-growth forest at upper-right. Sadly, the house is now abandoned and being subsumed back into nature.

A frozen mountain stream with lots of icicles hanging from a tree

Didn't have much time to get any good shots, and it's such a gloomy time of year. These latest shots are located adjacent to the ball field in Mahwah, NJ by Airmont Road. Still too cold for me. Brrrr! Praise the Lord anyway!

I have been remiss in not posting weeky photos. This winter has brought many detours and u-turns. but I am back (for now).

Dog Breath and Steamy Baanorrhea are comfortable walking this section of trail after their encounter with the stream and the poison oak.

Nice little stream after heavy snowing in Helsinki, Finland

Just beneath the spout. This was shot at dusk, so I think I've used one of the highest WB settings I've ever used- 12000 kelvin.

This little stream winds its way through the woods at Green Valley forest preserve. It doesn't run very often; this past summer was so dry it only had water in it briefly after when it rained. Last weekend there was 6 inches of water rushing through here; only a trickle now.
