A small stream through Kvačianska dolina (Kvacany valley) in Northern Slovakia. I spent an entire day hiking this valley and its neighboring Prosiecka dolina on my way back. (Canon Rebel Ti, Canon EF 28-90mm II, Fuji Velvia 100, tripod)
Perfect lighting to capture flowing water. The sun was out in full strength and this is one of the few places with the shade I needed to capture flowing water well

If you walk through the Dunmow Cutting towards Dunmow you'll come across a raised walkway area which takes you over this small, apparently very clean, stream.

Stream Cruiser dragonflies (Didymops transversa) typically patrol streams and small rivers, but often perch well away from water and low to the ground. This one was perching about 1 foot off of the ground in a very dry, sunny oak woodland at Occoneechee State Natural Area. In the North Carolina Piedmont they are most abundant in April and May, with occasional records during the summer months through early September.
A tiny stream flows from the cliffs, southwest of Independence Mine at a higher elevation. The terrain becomes alpine tundra and scattered, lichen-covered boulders litter the landscape. This little stream runs clear and cold across a cushiony green carpet of moss, breaking up this otherwise harsh mountainside with a touch of softness and warm glow. It made a delightful bed upon which to lay and listen to the sounds of flowing water, ptarmigan, pikas and squirrels foraging amongst the stones. It was warmer as long as the sun was shining and the wind stayed calm, but the weather can change quickly and a warm, early fall day in the upper elevations of Hatcher Pass can turn freezing in an instant. The sun dips behind a cloud or mountain, wind picks up and an ill-prepared hiker will find their way quickly back down the mountains.

I used my favorite stamp sets Fresh Cut Florals, More Fresh Cuts, and Strictly Sentiments 2. Other favorites include a watercolor background, embossing paste textured background in white on white, and favorite colors to create this card.

Deep East Texas.
A mesic stream bottom dominated by American beech, Southern magnolia, and other hardwood species on timber company land in East Texas. While the timber company manages the uplands for timber production, they have left healthy streamside management zones that boast a rich diversity of plants.
Took a 27 mile ride from Armuchee to the Pocket. It was a beautiful day for a ride! These are from my iPhone.

Tried some long exposure shots of our stream while it was in spate. It does rather hide the 'boiled chocolate' image a fast exposure gives.
