The Specializing Master in Strategic Design. Building new businesses and strategies through design, is a 1st Level Specializing Master of Politecnico di Milano, designed and run by POLI.design in collaboration with MIP, the Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business.

After seeing the last spread ("So what do you do?") it unfolds into a poster "Get a concept and ride it all the way to the Addys" with all sorts of thumbnail sketches of unused concepts and the like...

Ad Fed Addy Awards call for entries 2002 (?)... Designed after the first proposed idea was killed for being too controversial for the co. donating printing.

 

This idea came out of the frustration of having to concept another CFE the night before the deadline — we wrote ideas on a legal pad and had the revelation: "why not make the whole poster an oversize legal pad sheet?" So we did just that, 22" x 34".

YYCM (Youth Conference Ministries) commissioned Widgets & Stone to design their 2007 View book (describing the various conferences and camps they offer)... after having their identity redesigned by Metaleap in Atlanta.

 

Basing the concept of the view book on the new postage stamp-like logos and the idea of summer camp, road trips and traveling, Widgets & Stone proposed a design using actual life-size, collaged imagery for each spread.

 

The tabloid size mailer was printed with highly economical newsprint.

XIX Edition - Welcome Day

 

The Specializing Master in Strategic Design. Building new businesses and strategies through design, is a 1st Level Specializing Master of Politecnico di Milano, designed and run by POLI.design in collaboration with MIP, the Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business.

Coffee sleeves advertising the event and the web site were distributed to many local coffee shops in the city. An editorial was written in the local paper about the painted signs on the library building.

 

These are some parts of a marketing campaign to draw citizens to a visioning event to give their ideas on how the Chattanooga library system could be reinvented.

 

Other parts of the street marketing campaign were stickers, coasters and coffee cup sleeves — all done with the initial "Nothing Will Change" message, then followed by the altered "Everything Will Change" message. Ads direct mailers and web page were also part of the overall campaign.

 

The end result was a success, with over 200 people attending the visioning event (exceeding the 50 expected by the library consultants leading the event).
