I have just returned from a 6 day Cornwall Seascapes Photographic workshop. I was organised as a trial by Camera Club Chairman Roger Crocombe and was full up to the maximum of 12 within days. Based near Bude on the North Cornwall Coast there are many fantastic rocky beaches in the area. At Trebarwith Strand here is a sandy beach at low tide but as the tide comes in it gradually fills the only access of a rocky gully. The shot is a 25 second long exposure. The Photographer is another Camera Club member, Tony Lord who was not aware he was being photographed but still stayed petty still while intent on his own shot.
The picture was taken with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10mm. Taken with a tripod using a BW 10 stop filter and a shutter speed of 25 seconds. The picture was first processed in RAW. More overall detail was brought in using Topaz Clarity. In both RAW and Topaz I added a little more saturation in the sky. The foreground gully floor was brightened a little using a brightness adjustment layer with a layer mask.
