If ever anyone needs to know why we do the trip we do, I always have evidence to show.

the newest pole on the block - the wooden pole was lying on the side of the road near our house for months before they came and put it up - the kids used to use it as a balance beam but they haven't noticed it's disappeared yet....

 

Note to Americans and others... all of those carry power - the telephone and cableTV lines are underground, soon power will be too... one day.

 

It's winter solstice so here on Flickr so it's a "DayInthe LifeOf"... I got started a little late this time, but at least I'm taking pictures today!

I have been woefully behind in posting and reading and everything, really, since my return from vacation last month. But I am back now (I am going away again next week, to Philly! But I will take my computer.

Now tell me do you really want to love me forever...oh oh oh.

Note the one in the centre front has horns going different ways. The one further back has very straightup horns which make it look like he's had way too much coffee. I had at this point just recently had a buffalo burger at the airport in the middle of the island so I think the buffaloes were giving me dirty looks.

Viewpoint

Before photographing your subject, take time to think about where you will shoot it from. Our viewpoint has a massive impact on the composition of our photo, and as a result it can greatly affect the message that the shot conveys. Rather than just shooting from eye level, consider photographing from high above, down at ground level, from the side, from the back, from a long way away, from very close up, and so on.
