I have been woefully behind in posting and reading and everything, really, since my return from vacation last month. But I am back now (I am going away again next week, to Philly! But I will take my computer.
Note the one in the centre front has horns going different ways. The one further back has very straightup horns which make it look like he's had way too much coffee. I had at this point just recently had a buffalo burger at the airport in the middle of the island so I think the buffaloes were giving me dirty looks.
the newest pole on the block - the wooden pole was lying on the side of the road near our house for months before they came and put it up - the kids used to use it as a balance beam but they haven't noticed it's disappeared yet....
Note to Americans and others... all of those carry power - the telephone and cableTV lines are underground, soon power will be too... one day.

today was a great sunny winter day for a walk. And the good weather brought out all the photographers it seems. We saw at least 4 other people along the beach with Cameras.

Yes, it's another photo of the pup. How could I pass this one up? The light was so perfect this morning and she was making those cute twitches and woofs in her doggy dreams.
At the Compost Garden I visited yesterday, there was this vine-thing growing on a trellis. This is standing directly underneath it - you can see the tendrils reaching out and up to the sun. Next time I go, I'll have to see if I can find out what kind of plant this is.
Stopped at Borders tonight to pick up the latest Piecework and Vanity Fair. This is the skeleton of the Filene's building. Construction on this project has been halted for months. It's just a big hole in ground and poorly gift-wrapped skeleton.
I miss Filene's. I miss The Basement even more. I miss Woolworth's most of all.

Viewpoint
Before photographing your subject, take time to think about where you will shoot it from. Our viewpoint has a massive impact on the composition of our photo, and as a result it can greatly affect the message that the shot conveys. Rather than just shooting from eye level, consider photographing from high above, down at ground level, from the side, from the back, from a long way away, from very close up, and so on.
