with crazy hair and a ratty wifebeater, standing in the darkest corner of my apartment testing out my new flash which I have no idea how to use. the foyer is super dark, even during daytime, and well nigh impossible to shoot in without a tripod.
the flash definitely made the shot possible and the lighting actually doesn't look super harsh thanks to bouncing on the ceiling. it's actually not as bright as i expected though. no clue what I'm doing but am excited to learn - Julie, help!

the scarf is fabulously huge made of cotton and linen. i got it on double-secret sale from madewell (it was already reduced and then i got 25% off on top of that). and i'm wearing black honey almost lipstick from clinique. i've been wearing it for probably 10 years though. before flickr even existed.
nothing i'm wearing was purchased from target.

So, this is the first fruit of those experiments. More to come, I'm sure.
I believe the building is part of the Denver Art Museum. It always reminds me of a castle. I wonder who's up there...
The penitentiary building at the Port Arthur penal settlement, Tasmania.
The prisoners here would have seen a wooden ceiling above them, serving as the floor for another row of cells, above that another floor, and finally a roof.
This is not a trick photography shot. Those are the largest windchimes I've ever seen, the "Basso Profundo" from Music of the Spheres. I highly recommend their products...absolutely exquisite in sound and craftmanship.
