I took this shot of three redwood trees while at the Grandfather Tree stop, off of Hwy 101 in the redwood national forest in Northern California.

This is Cedar Point's scariest ride, called the Top Thrill Dragster. And Cedar Point is world renowned for its roller-coasters. This one actually goes straight up, over the loop (the upside-down U), then comes back to earth straight-down.

I'm not overly afraid of roller-coasters usually, but I did not try this one. It's not worth risking a heart attack, or injuring my fragile back.

Walking around the San Diego Zoo, there were lots of cacti everywhere (something I miss seeing in cold, rainy, wet Washington ;) and even some that hung over the walkways. Well, naturally I had to get underneath it, and take a photo for the "from BELOW" group. :)

Thankfully, it was a gorgeous, warm, sunny day. Not like the day before, when we visited Sea World (it was cold and windy there.) I even got to take off my jacket for a while, and be comfortable in a tank top! In December! :)

Revelation 10:9-11 King James Version (KJV)

9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

Discovered this recently and recommend for a nice after dinner drink. Goes well with orange soda, pineapple juice, or root beer.

Instead of a ribbon cutting, Knox College holds a ceremonial "unplugging" to dedicate the first solar power project on campus at Wilson House.

The amazing ironwork of the tower becomes visible when you're right underneath. Don't get dizzy.

Straight up a very yellow Maple tree.

I'm feeling pretty disconnected and dispassionate about everything. I miss my flickr friends, but haven't opened my Contacts page in days. I am keeping up with twitter but i have this nagging feeling like I don't know what's going on out there with you all.

Unlike earlier today, when it poured... along with awesome bolts of lightning streaking across the sky.

Which I completely and utterly failed to capture, as I was driving at the time.

Detroit's historic Scarab Club was founded in 1907 to serve the public and Michigan artists of all disciplines for more than 100 years. The Scarab Club building, constructed in 1928, is listed in the National Registry of Historic Buildings.

A couple more shots taken in Glastonbury.

Here is the sepia version of this shot. It's a very subtle sepia. Didn't want to overdo it. I prefer it over the straightup b&w version.

I was very pleased with how this shot came out...as well as the session in general. My first maternity session.

Finally.

It's been a hectic week. Added to the hustle and bustle, I picked up the inlaws at the airport at midnight last night, didn't sleep well and then drove them home to the Cape and came back this morning. Straight up? I'm tired, but totally cool with it. It's the good tired.

(But not half as tired as the Husband who has been working 10 hours days but with an added nasty cough and no sleep, poor dude.)

Straight up, back to the wall portrait.
