We've a storage-challenged kitchen when it comes to places for the recycling. One day I noticed a nail on the back of the door that leads to the basement and a light bulb went on over my head. I used things I had around to make this recycling bag: a wire clothes hanger, hemp fabric, vintage buttons, a small scrap of fabric (from which I made the bias tape) and grommets for the gathered bottom closure. I bought the jute cord for $ .50/5 yards. Woo!

Construction on a new salt storage facility is nearly complete at the City of Greenville Public Works yard on Tuesday, December 6. The new storage replaces a smaller building that has far exceeded its lifespan, and will more than double the City's storage capacity for salt used to treat roads during winter weather.
Due to my dad moving house soon, it's time time clean out the storage shed. About halfway through, this is the "yet to be sorted through" pile. Digging into that pile revealed things like an old DSL modem, boxes and boxes of "why did we keep this crap?" crap, and happily, a few of my childhood keepsakes. Probably 75% of what's in this picture will go to recycle, donation, or the dump.

The Husband did his holiday shopping at Target and left the receipt on my desk. I looked at it and saw that he had bought a shoe cubbie. Oh boy, I was getting that for Christmas! Well, on Christmas AM, I opened it and he said it really was so I could organize my stash. And it really works! I forgot to take a before picture, but before, all the fabric was just piled on the shelf.
