We visited this place where they make chicha (a corn beer). These baskets and things were hanging next to the fire pit in the corner of the room. This was in Urubamba, Peru.

I made some hidden jewelry storage using an Ikea mirror. It came with hinges and had about an inch of clearance between it and the wall. I made earring hangers by attaching radiator cover panels to some 1x2 frames I built. The necklace holders are just picture hangers.
It used to be the garage but half of it was made into the screened in porch. The stairs on the left go to a large closet with the fuse box and water heater. The open door is to the kitchen. The other door goes to the living room. There is a door opposite the kitchen that goes to the porch.
Almost done.
The area to the right where the dresser moved still needs hooks for cloths , but I already can't believe the improvement.
I was lucky to pick up some plain white storage boxes at my local discount store and printed out some simple labels. So much easier than having to shake each box to find what you're looking for!

Although not able to explore inside the buildings, this facility in Mexico, MO was still cool to see.
Originally the Mexico Fire Brick and Fire Clay Company, founded in either the early 1900's or late 1800's, I am not sure which, it was purchased in 1910 by A.P. Green for a whopping $85,000 and became the A.P. Green Fire Brick Company. Five years later, when the company became incorporated, the value of the equipment and facility had risen to over $200,000. This plant was one of the world's leading producers of brick, and bricks from this plant were even used in the boilers of Navy warships. The military awarded the Army-Navy "E" for Excellence and Maritime "M" to the A.P. Green Company in recognition for its achievements during WWII. Bricks from this factory even line the launch pad at Cape Canaveral. In it's heyday, over 2,000 people were employed and nearly everyone in the town of Mexico could hear the whistle blow for shift changes. Unfortunately in 2002, the plant closed down. A new company by the name of Mid America Brick came by an in 2009, purchased the facility for $9.7 million. Mid America did not last long. In 2013, Mid America filed for bankruptcy and the site was again abandoned. Now the assets are owned by Shamrock Proppants' and the site lies mostly abandoned.

Made by cutting a plastic CD sleeve down one side to a suitable width, and then putting holes on that side using a Filofax punch.
This looked somewhat daunting, and caused me to indulge in a L4D2 break before I felt ready to tackle the next part. Though I did use the slack time to label the cables...

During WW2, the storage bunkers were used to store things like food, water, and documents. They were weather proof, heat / cool consistent and had their own air circulation system. Anyhow, one of the bunkers also was supposed to have had celophane films of various things. (not sure what).
Anyhow, when the Soviet Army invaded Berlin and liberated the airport, they couldn't get into some of the storage bunkers. Thus, they decided to blow up the steel doors to get access. This resulted in a fire that burned very hot - for several days.
While they don't know if anyone was killed, and the cello film was destroyed, these bunkers are still there and available for us to explore.
They've not been repaired, the black smoke/heat can be seen from the fire (it collapsed the concrete in places and twisted the steel reinforcing rods) and the warped doors are not all in their hinges. Strangely, they re-wired the lights - which are the only "repair" made.
