Some random acts of Eggelstonian homage I shot down in Georgia, y'all. I was privileged to see his work up close at the Whitney recently and, though I could not quite capture the inherent wit and absurdity of his most excellent compositions, I did appreciate stepping on the same sultry southern soil that is his element.
Alex Wetmore stopped by and we performed some frame prep and alignment tasks on his cargo bike project. We did a minor amount of cold setting of the frame but all in all it was in good shape already. After chasing and facing the BB and reaming and facing the head tube it is ready for final assembly.
It's a smart design and a good lesson in bike frame making. I can't wait to try it out.
I was out for my walk & happened by the elementary school as the kids were getting out. This kind crossing guard saw me approaching and although there were no cars in sight, he blew his whistle and 'helped' me cross the street. I smiled and thought about it for a few seconds and then turned to take this photo as he helped the young children and parents cross the busier side of the intersection.
Stop. Just stop. Stop trying to “fix” it by introducing more problems. How about listening and speaking truthfully instead of running in with “solutions”?
An old friend of mine, Linda Ashpole (we went to guides together) and her colleague Jan trying to get people to stop smoking! I got a balloon last time I saw her!
"Stop"
The further away I get
The sharper are the lines
You need some distance
To help you redefine
The harder I look at you
The less you disappoint
I realize no one's to blame
Stop and listen
You might hear something you're missing
Stop and listen
You might hear something you're missing
Stop and listen
You might hear something you're missing
Stop and listen
For something so important
it's so little
Think about the things you value
and not about the cost
You've gotta get things into perspective
without it you are lost
They say actions speak louder than words
whoever they may be
Probably the one's who'll break your back
to bolster up their insecurity
Stop and listen
You might hear something you're missing
Stop and listen
You might hear something you're missing
Stop and listen
You might hear something you're missing
Stop and listen
For something so important
it's so little
Reach down inside
swallow your pride
Don't be afraid
Forgiveness is a virtue
not a crime
Stop and listen
You might hear something you're missing
Stop and listen
You might hear something you're missing
Stop and listen
You might hear something you're missing
Stop and listen
For something so important
it's so little
so little....
