There is a small stool at the bottom for small people to pull out to stand on.

This was my grandmother's step stool. It's a Cosco Step Stool from, I believe, the 1940s. The original color was red but I remember it looking just like this all through my childhood (when I was a kid it was my seat at the dinner table).

Trenice created a Halloween foot stool, using paint and stencils from the new Martha Stewart craft line. This Halloween foot stool is a beginner level craft that will take about 2 or more hours to complete.

She doesn't really like sitting on the stool . . . but she just looked so darned cute when I stuck her on there for a sec!

Day 157/365

Thank you to everyone for the views, favourites and comments for my day 156 shot. I really wasn't expecting it to be that popular!

Unfortunately, I was very uninspired for the next few days, so today's shot is a step down that I've intentionally been slow to post. These are metal stools in our condo with lots of bokeh and a B&W conversion.

This is a step stool I made for my daughter.

It is based on the design featured in Fine Woodworking Magazine (Jan/Feb 2009).

I made the stool out of poplar, which I then bleached using a pickling stain. I painted on some grass to give it a definite "kid's stool" look, and finished off with 4 coats of satin-finish polyurethane.

This was my first attempt at hand-cut dove tail joints. The joints could have been cleaner, but overall I'm happy with the results.

Emma painted this lovely sign to mark the stool ball field.

There was a stool here. It's gone now.

They're hideous and awesome. Found them on Craigslist and had to have 'em.

Vintage adjustable metal stool by Inter Royal. Stool is a nice blue grey color and is all metal except the seat, which appears to be fiber board riveted onto the top. Paint on the metal shows some wear and the fiber board has some water spots, a shallow cut across the top and a small “214” scratched into it (see pics). Dimensions are approximately 20 inches tall at its shortest setting, 25 ½ inches tall at its highest setting and seat is 15 inches wide.

I picked these 3 stools up at a farm auction last fall for $8. As soon I bought them I knew what I was going to do with them.
