Scattata nel mio salotto poi regolati contrasto e luce....

La luce al tramonto l'ha fatto diventare rossastro una volta contrastato parecchio...

Here's my first shot at making a stool with crutches and bicycle wheels. I need to figure out the upholstery portion. The legs adjust in height while the spacing from the seat to the foot rest remains the same.

Bar stools at Rohmans are rail car conductor seats from the turn of the 20th century.

Today I finally removed the canvas, painted the frame and put on a nice new canvas, stabbing my left thumb quite badly with the bradawl in the process! This is the third injury I've had to my left hand in a week and a half...

It looks nice, though!

I'm a design student and I made three copies of this stool i came up with, kinda simple and catchy!

They are handmade out of 100% swedish birch, harvested nearby. It took me about 40 hours to make three of them!

getting started on the design for the oak spinning stool.. hopefully, i'll be able to finish it, and transfer it before the weekend is over..yay, another finished object soon..next..the rocking dragons..:)

This was one of those fun projects where you tend to get so absorbed in the progress that you lose track of time! It’s a stool/chair/seat made for a shower or sauna and it’s made of Redwood. The design looks a bit complicated whereas the process is actually rather simple. It uses a technique called wood bending. You basically take a bunch of thin strips of wood and bend them around a form. There’s quite a bit of machining to prepare the wood for bending. You can’t just go to you local Home Depot and pick up 3/16″ x 2″ strips of redwood. In fact, you won’t find anything close to that. Multiple thin strips of redwood area glued together and bent around a form. The pieces are then cut to fit and fastened with stainless steel screws. We initially made one of these, but ended up making quite a few more due to popular demand.

The second painted functional piece of art in my "Eve and the Serpent" series is this wooden stool. I love the way the colors pop off the black background.

My 'new' old pottery stool for throwing with my shimpo wheel - bought from a second-hand shop. It's the perfect height!
