This is a stool I've been working on the last few weeks. My goal is to assemble a stool together using thermoforming, and through this, eliminate the need for fasteners. By using what would normally be considered "consequences" of vacuum-forming, the undercuts and trapping of wood add to it's structure.

Each stool is created entirely by hand: cut, painted, upholstered, felted. The bottom of the log is covered in cork to protect your flooring surfaces. The log for this stool came from a tree on my land that fell on its own and was not intentionally cut down to make this. The stool measures approx. 15x23”.

I plan on posting more videos of music rather than pictures of me playing in 2025, and it's much easier to sit in front of the amps to play while practicing so I can adjust amp settings as I play. This little stool should do just right!
I'm very excited about my $50 eBay stool whose legs, as you can see, match the Bertoia knock off. Transparent chair in front of the picture window, armless sofa and stool across from two armless slipper chairs is going to be the convo area in the radioactive spumoni living room. (Please ignore the coffee tables from a former life, ditto the dirty dog cover on the sofa. There will be a circular taupe rug and much else.)
I am excited about what I'm going to do with the stool.
I'm going to prime it, enamel it white, tape it up, glaze it with taupe, comb it when wet, let it dry, untape, retape the painted bits, glaze and comb the formerly taped bits, to achieve a herringbone pattern. I love me some Martha.

'Porthole' Bar Stool
The ‘Porthole’ bar stool is a user centred design piece that i did for The Gylly Beach Cafe, Falmouth. they wanted to re-design their outdoor furniture for a number of reasons. Mainly due to the fact that they had problems with where to put their chairs at night. The current ones don’t fit inside at night time so the staff have to spend time stacking and locking them outside with a padlock.
I came up with this solution of a stool that folds completely flat on itself so it can be put away easily whenever you’re done using it. I was asked for the style to be in keeping with the Cornish seaside as the their aren’t many cafe’s that come to much closer to the Cornish waters. That would be the reason for the nautical/ porthole theme.
