Here begins your Yoga Nidra "Vanilla Sky" experience.
We woke up this morning to a similar scene, not so extensive but definitely white! However, it's now been washed away by the subsequent rain (will it ever stop?!).
I would like to thank all my friends here on Flickr for your friendship & stimulation over the past year, and wish you a joyful Christmastime despite the horrible year we've all experienced.
Apologies that you've seen this scene before - but with the added greeting(!) and this morning's snow I decided to go for it.
Love & best wishes for a better 2021, Roy.
I want to chase after something,
keeping secret in my heart my fury
You are the No. 1
I believe that
In your arms embracing me,
I want to see a real dream
Keep me durnin' away
as I want
These paling eyes
stare at the distance
It's not possible for me to go back anymore
Rather than an angel, rather than a devil
I want a stimulating love
Rather than yesterday, rather than tomorrow
I want a present that makes sparks fly
Back to the fire
I've thrown off my dress of lies
now I'll throw away my cheating self
I want to love selfishly
Held in a night of velvet,
those eyes of yours fret
They're searching for the truth
Rather than pick-up lines,
convey your love now
with meek words
The face of an angel, the face of a demon
I live repeating
those faces over and over
Rather than kindness,
rather than fury
I'll go as I feel
I don't wanna get down
Even at my limit, even at my limit
I won't give up, woo oh oh
Rather than an angel, rather than a devil
I want a stimulating love
Rather than yesterday, rather than tomorrow
I want a present that makes sparks fly
The face of an angel, the face of a demon
I live repeating
those faces over and over
Rather than kindness,
rather than fury
I'll go as I feel
I'm fine with that
Back to the fire...

For this week's Macro Monday's theme "Blues" I used my favorite and challenging technique of high speed macro of paint stimulated by a subwoofer.
The Stimulator pattern dry flies are typically used for trout fishing. These feature a brilliant orange base thread.
Kalamaki, as Kalkan was known in ancient history is thought to have been founded between 150-200 years ago by traders from the Greek Island of Meis, which lies 2 miles off shore from the town of Kas, which is 18 miles from Kalkan.
The success of those early traders encouraged others of both Greek and Turkish origin to settle. Evidence of this can be seen in the similarity in architecture in Meis and Kalkan. Settlement was further stimulated by Kalkan's harbour which was the only safe, hospitable harbour between Fethiye and Kas.
Kalkan Mosque
Kalkan's Mosque, originally a Greek orthodox church is one of Kalkan's earliest buildings and the architecture is very reminiscent of churches that can be seen in the Greek Mediterranean today.
Kalkan people were largely involved in trade. Various produce, including charcoal, silk, cotton, Olive oil, timber, grapes and sesame were brought by camel from the plains of Patara and mountains to be loaded onto ships where goods were taken to other parts of the Ottoman empire such as Egypt, Syria, Cyprus, Rhodes and Lebanon.
The 20th century saw Kalkan prosper with this trade, and history records that in the early 1900's there was a customs House, 17 restaurants, a goldsmith and several tailors at this time.
The 1920's saw the start of changes, with the founding of the Turkish Republic, and population exchange of Greeks and Turks. Greeks who were living in Turkey moved to Greece and Australia, and Turks who were living in Greece moved to Turkey.
In the 1960's a coastal road was completed between Kalkan and the larger towns of Antalya to the East and Fethiye to the West. This new mobility and the opportunities for local people to develop businesses further afield meant that at that time many people left Kalkan.

For some reason I just absolutely love the pictures of my flowerbed this time of year especially after the snow added just a touch of winter to the mix. I don't know if it is the textures or the colors or what, I just really love the way they look together!
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

or Blue light reception
One shot illustration of blue light induced phototropism in plants.
Light is one of the most important environmental factors controlling plant development, and is achieved through photoreceptor proteins. Like photoreceptors associated with our vision, plant light sensors can detect the presence, intensity, direction and wavelength of light, and in turn, utilize this information to direct their growth. To date four different types of photoreceptors have been identified in plants. Among them is a small family of proteins known as the phototropins, which are activated specifically by blue wavelengths of light. The activation of these proteins stimulates a range of processes that ultimately optimize the photosynthetic efficiency of plants, including phototropism, a Greek term describing the process by which plants grow towards light, after which they were named.
“The monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulate the creative mind.” – Albert Einstein
“Blessed are those who do not fear solitude, who are not afraid of their own company, who are not always desperately looking for something to do, something to amuse them with, and something to judge.” – Paulo Coelho

Everybody calls me the quiet one
But you just don't understand
You can't listen you won't hear me
With your head stuck in the sand
I ain't never had time for words that don't rhyme
My head is in a cloud
I ain't quiet - everybody else is too loud
Still waters run deep so be careful I don't drown you
You've got nothing to hear I've got nothing to say
Sticks and stones may break my bones
But names can never down you
It only takes two words to blow you away.

Regno Unito, Londra, Canary Wharf, Estate 2014
Canary Wharf is a major business district located in the West India Docks on the Isle of Dogs in the Borough of Tower Hamlets in East London. It is one of London's two main financial centres, alongside the traditional City of London, and contains many of the UK's tallest buildings. Around 90,000 people work in Canary Wharf and it is home to the world or European headquarters of numerous major banks and professional services firms.
The West India Docks once formed part of the busiest port in the world. After the docks were closed in 1980 the British Government adopted various policies to stimulate the redevelopment of the area. In 1987 the Canadian company Olympia and York agreed to construct a major office development on the Isle of Dogs, with construction commencing in 1988.

BLACK COFFEE – LACY J DALTON
We couldn't get in at the restaurant we wanted
we didn't think to book
so we were re-directed across the road
and found a cosy comfy nook
this poster caught my eye and so
I pointed shot and took
a little boy from olden days
who caught a big fish on a little hook
the carvery was excellent
I met and congratulated the cook
we piled our plates as high as we could
we signed our names in the visitor's book
the place was a little dark but not shabby
it had it's own style; conversation babbled like a brook
we felt relaxed and satiated and happy
as we left for the theatre for which we DID book
an amateur production of Agatha Christie's
play called Black Coffee; well worth a look
the performers were brilliant; very professional
we couldn't second-guess who was the crook
Hercule Poirot arrived looking a bit dishevelled
in a well-worn well-creased linen jacket he forsook
to press it as well as Captain Hasting's trousers
the audience laughed; our shoulders shook
the stage was set; the lights were dimmed
until the interval came and everyone took
a break for an ice-cream, fresh air and ablutions
returned for the final half of this lesser known book
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and visit
to the Palace Theatre as we undertook
to applaud the wonderful players of this play
sad to say goodnight as the room fell dark as a rook.

The little "flowers" on this leaf are actually leaf galls. Galls form when a wasp lays eggs in a plant's tissue, releasing chemicals which stimulate the plant to use its own tissue to form protective structures around the eggs. As the insect larvae develops, it feeds on plant tissue from within its cozy gall home.

Lichen on log. A stack of three with a degree of colour enhancement.
Taken in 2014, the lichens in 2015 were a bit boring because of the dry seasons. However, the current rain is bound to stimulate some new bursts of sporulation. In this part of the world they seem to only grow on the shady side (south) of a tree or log, though I have noticed down on the coast they grow in any position
