Yay, more flowers! This time it's an orange lily from the bouquet the gym owner sent to my mother. Wasn't that a kind gesture?

To those who have made suggestions for my upcoming photo book, thank you so much! At a time when I'm not all that inspired, it's probably best I do a compilation (or two or more) and finally have some of these photos in print. Many, many thanks again for your suggestions and inspiration.
The length of this wee ladybug is about 3.75 to 5.0 mm.
An adult will eat about 300 medium-size aphids before it lays eggs.

Fritillaria imperialis 'prolifera'
Emperor of the garden
Crown imperial
"'Prolifera' Crown Imperial is a unique form of imperalis with double orange flowers, one crown sheathed in the other. Fritillaria imperialis was first introduced by Clusius to the imperial courts of 16th century Europe, this splendid plant still causes a sensation whenever its displayed in the garden. Each stem supports a leafy tufted crown; the brilliantly colored flowers hang below."
"A species of flowering plant in the lily family, native to a wide stretch from Turkey and Iraq across the plateau of Iran to Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Himalayan foothills. It is also widely cultivated as an ornamental and reportedly naturalized in Austria, Sicily, and Washington State."
Five stigma stand ready to receive pollen on this Hibiscus stem, with the purple flowers of catmint in the background...
Enjoy.
Micro-droplet decorated stigma. Couldn't get any closer. Double click on image to see detail just a bit better.
Spring finally starting to show some colors but very limited. Very warm days followed by near freezing mornings other days. Sorry for so many photos taken the last couple of days. All handheld in rather brisk breezes so not the sharpest focus on some. Anxious to get back out on a calm day. :)
As our cities, becoming controlled by mobs and thugs. Brazenly, storming stores anytime of day. Breaking, stealing, without fear. Our communities, being controlled by mobs, stalkers, racist; driving out those, they deem not worthy. Law Enforcement, standing idle; blaming the judicial system, making excuses.
Our schools, public venues; being stormed by those waiving weapons, designed for war. The truth being stricken from them. Becoming a stigma, a mental illness, for those that dare speak it.
Our Legislator, turning their backs on their districts, as they implode. Pretending they care, keeping us occupied with lies and division. Treating us like ignorant adolescents. Filling their pockets and banks, by the corporations, they represent. Our Administration, savvy from years of the same. Government Agencies, taking liberties; with no accountability. Our Nation; descends further into chaos and anarchy.
All photos and content in my photostream are free to download, copy, print and share. All I ask; is you maintain my copyright logos on all prints. The truth should be free, for all who seek it. Thanks for visiting our photostream
Following yesterdays posting of the African Violet, this is an extreme macro of the stigma of the same flower showing the hidden jewels we don't get to see everyday.
This again is an uncropped photograph taken with the Canon MP-E65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro Lens at the maximum X5 zoom.

Giant Spikes Atop Single Tiny Stigma Of Hibiscus Flower - IMRAN™
It is amazing to see the worlds within worlds around us even in the tiniest objects. Take this close-up view of a single tiny stigma that we often see at the top of a common hibiscus. Look at how sharp and shiny those filaments appear protruding from it.
This is a SOOC (straight out of camera) no-edit no-filter handheld photo I took with my Nikon D850 just using the zoom lens since I have never invested in an actual fancy macro lens. I only added my name to the bottom right and saved it at a reduced size to upload compared to the 50MB original.
Even the background colors look like a computer-generated screensaver-type pattern. Nature, the most powerful painter and screensaver.

A Hibiscus Stigma - another reverse lens macro attempt. Didn't go quite well coz the lens and everything were shaking like mad. And it rained quite a lot today. Didn't want water inside the camera either.
