she stayed home today.
yesterday she came home from school describing that she was too cold for recess (she aLways goes out to recess) and kept getting the chills. sure enough she had a fever.
so when you have a cold and you're feeling cold the best is to snuggle up in a big bed with some morning cartoons.
her eyes just say it all.

yep, had to go another direction with cold-- since our winter has been so mild. warm temperatures and december had very little rain. although today as i'm posting this image it is now snowing here, wouldn't you know it.
as for this image... i was really drawn to the shadows n' dark colors to help convey the story. also how her face is just peeking out. i'm glad she still looks small in our bed.
stayed home sick from school today. watched The Butterfly Effect and Exam. won the trombone ebay auction! hopefully it'll be here by next week. oh and I just now remembered that I have a French paper due tomorrow and a history quiz. wonderful!
Stayed home sick today and barely got out of bed so ambition for a photo was low. But I had pulled these out yesterday, so here's a little memorial from the foot of my bed.

Lock down during Covid 19 pandemic sure has been a challenge but at the same time it has opened me up to different ways to print. My love of fiber arts (crochet) has been implemented into my prints. I crocheted flowers, leaf, and bunny appliques for printing. I have many types of paper to print on that included: handmade with/ without inclusions, handmade eco paper, and cardstock. All worked very well in my processes.
Everything I printed was with my hands, fingers, and a wooden block covered with felt. All hand printed with no traditional press involved. I love how the texture of my stitches have imprinted on the paper.
To replace traditional printmaking inks, I used oil based paints thinned lightly with homemade medium from Damar Crystals and turpentine. I dabbed the paint onto the appliques and used hand pressure to print on the paper.

I called in sick [on Friday] because of a cold. I rested all day. It was lame.

with weather like this I decided to stay home for the 4th (not to mention all the drunk drivers) and watch natures fireworks. took long exposures this time and captured several lightning bolts in only 55 shots this time. unfortunately, this storm wasn't nearly as dramatic as the one last night...nor was it as close, but none the less I am happy with 1 or 2 of the shots
