Stay home they say. It will be fine, they say. I usually prefer travel and landscape when it comes to

photography, but you can stay home and find things to shoot right around you. It is spring and the hummingbirds are out. A little bit of patience and you might catch one just outside your windows like I did for this shot.

"Baby, let's stay home tonight

We can put a couple records on

We can build a fire alright

Maybe we can dance till dawn

Everything will be just fine

Don't even have to put clothes on

I can keep you warm inside

Baby, let's stay home tonight

Lately we've been walking in a straight line

Doing our own thing never seem to find time

We've been going downtown

Making reservations

But maybe we just slow down

See where it can take us..."

Stayed home sick for 2 days. This is me, sick in my hoodie.

Signs stuck in the window of a GP surgery.

I'm sick with swine flu. I mean, sick of swine flu - yet another health scare. The stupid thing is, it's less unpleasant than normal flu, the only remarkable thing about it being that it's crossed species. I'm never quite sure whether to blame the government or the media for these scares, but I know I'm getting mightily sick of everyone on the radio keep saying how swine flu is constantly in the media - can't they see what they're saying?

Mike had to stay home today, as an engineer was coming to sort out our internet issues. SatNav tok me via Charlbury today, so I had a gorgeous view from the top of the ridge, down over the ribbon of mist in the valley - sadly, couldn't find a safe place to stop for a photo!

I had a fun time in Bicester with Smaller Miss, playing games, going to the park (and enjoying hunting for conkers), playing Duplo etc. She was off nursery yesterday with a cough and runny nose, but seemed on fairly good form today, and ate a pretty good lunch, followed by a good nap. Our daughter drove us all to collect Little Miss from school, as the weather forecast was for heavy rain (of which there was a short burst or two).

This evening, I was going for a walk in the dark and met a neighbour outside, with his torch. Several houses around us have had another power cut. After my walk, I established that only about 10 houses in the village were affected, just at our end of the village. Some adjacent houses had no power, while their neighbours did - we and one of our neighbours were ok, but the rest had no power. The engineers are working on it, so hopefully it will be restored soon.

Stayed home from school today. I woke up around 5 in the morning with a terrible bug.

:[ So close to the end of school too..

you make me new clothes!

Week 8 - Stay home, save lives but in Englandshire they can wander around the parks and beauty spots that will now be crowded.

i stayed home sick today... i hate being sick. it's been months since something has kept me stuck in the house.

and of all days... it was one of the hottest thus far.

living in a house without air conditioning, the 88 degrees it was inside was less than bearable...

i couldn't sleep, i couldn't work, i couldn't breath.

it was pretty much miserable.

but don't feel sorry for me...i found one redeeming moment in the day.

as i opened up all the windows in my house, for the first time since i moved here,i opened the small window in the bathroom revealing a light shaft in the middle of the house.

such soft light came spilling out of the sky and in through the window.

i think it's the only thing today that brought a smile to my face.

Note: Looking outside through the front door of my new house. Because I am at high risk for COVID-19, I stay at home a lot. I have made trips to the small post office on the HOA grounds, gone to the drive-thru window of the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions, and bought lunch at curbside 421 Coffeehouse in West Columbia. Yesterday, I went to my favorite park, First Capitol Park, to photograph nature and participate in iNaturalist's City Nature Challenge 2020. In all of my activities, I take precautions to avoid this pandemic virus. Somehow, this window brings me hope as I look outside day and night.

I think one of the things that drew me to this house in December, 2019, was the front door with its beautiful etched glass and star in the middle. I've lived in Texas now for almost 53 years, most of my life. Unlike my children and grandchildren, I'm not a native Texan. But I feel like one! Anyone who lives in Texas knows that the lone star is a symbol of our great state. I post my photos to a photostream on Flickr. I'm a participant in its Flickr Friday group. This week's theme is "stay home". With the thought in mind that I would post a photo of my door looking outside through the window, I began taking these photos. 04.26.2020

We were riding more than 300 miles a day - a lot for us - to get back to Oregon from Mexico as quickly as possible. All of the highway signs had reminders about COVID19, asking people to wash their hands and to stay home. Hard to believe that when we left more than two weeks ago, no one was warning about traveling outside the USA - or traveling into this country.

I tweeted while we traveled - see @coyotetrips
