Restez à la maison. Faites attention. Et regarder vers l'avenir....
Stay home. Be safe. And look to the future....
“And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.” - Kitty O’Meara

I didn't deserve it and had a reservation at the Metropolitan Museum but Rafael Nadal! If I went to the museum I would have missed Rafa serving Novak Djokovic a bagel.

You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

Stayed home from work today due to the snowstorm. I was good though, and spent time going through papers for tax time..... ugh!
Of course I had to take a break and play with the boys in the snow, too! We had a blast playing catch, keep away and tug of war. Hard to believe Josh is now 10 and Ralph is 9.
It's nice to have a fenced in area of the yard now so the boys can play and run as much as they want and we don't have to worry about them.
Today is a Sunday, 25 April 2021, so, like yesterday, I am staying home to avoid the masses of people, including birders and photographers who have multiplied during the pandemic, who will be packing the parks and natural areas. Does anyone care about social distancing?! There are things I need to get done, so a drive out of the city will have to wait. Also, the weather has been nasty all weekend, gloomy, with snow. These five photos are from my archives, mainly for some bright colour.
Saw this Red-winged Blackbird when I went for a short drive SW of the city, on 11 June 2016.
No sign of the Great Gray Owls that day - but I certainly can't complain, after seeing it/them on three different days within the previous 10 or so days.
Ticking clock and a rainy day, I think this is a perfect stay home day and stay safe my friend during this challanging time!
After staying home for some considerable time they allowed us out again, once buses and trains had started running something resembling a functional service we decided on a trip to the Yorkshire Dales to make the most of our newly regained freedom to go walking in the rain.
This bird box has just had a make over of a new slate roof and sides to stop cat's claws from getting a grip...see the claw marks to the right of the hole!!!
Staying home with family during this covid 19 period, makes me reflecting back on different trips I had opportunity to in life.
One of them, to Utah 5 years ago,, time really flies away!
I've had this scene uploaded once before, but this one is with different light coming in, and makes it even better ( I think =)

Most of us are likely in the same boat so to speak, trying to social distance from each other and many of us are more or less required or at least strongly requested to stay at home due to Covid-19. For that reason I have been taking photos of birds in my yard and staying home in hopes of avoiding this virus. Most wide open public places away from town are closed to access, which to me doesn't make much sense. There apparently is little chance of getting Covid-19 at crowded grocery stores where people are binge buying but people who want to enjoy wide open spaces are more susceptible to contracting this virus here in Washington State, USA. Most state and federal public land is closed to access. Bottom line for me is that I will only have photos of yard birds for several weeks or who knows how long unless I decide to search my archives or cheat. Stay home and save a life, it may be your own. God and Santa claus will be watching to see who is naughty and nice.

A massive storm system that stretches from New Mexico all the way to the Canadian Maritimes provinces (and everywhere in between, including the U.S. Southern States, the Great Lakes, Ontario and Quebec, the Eastern Seaboard, and New England states) rolls through on Sunday 2026-01-25. Depending on the region, strong winds and heavy rain, or prolonged freezing rain/ sleet, or heavy snow disrupted traffic, felled trees and power lines, cancelled flights, and changed plans for hundreds of millions of people.
Downtown Toronto recorded 60 cm (2-feet) of snow in very cold temperatures (-11C during mid-afternoon).
Schools are closed and workers are urged to stay home or work from home on the following day (2026-01-26).
