.In summary, talking about the perpetrators based on the data from our sample: more than 80 percent of them are not of the main nationality in Russia, their level of intelligence is on average lower than that of the T.I.s, they have health problems from birth, they don’t like sports and don’t have other hobbies, they are not married, they don’t have children in the most productive periods of their lives, they on average quite risk averse in comparison to T.I.s, they avoid working for a certain sub-industry of the military-industrial complex, and patriotism is, probably, no their favorite word. If Russia, as some ‘scientists’ put it,is a “natural laboratory or a natural experiment”, then these results can be and will be generalizable to other countries too.

The results presented here are not the revelations of the last days, but it would be interesting to see the ‘hit-rate’, the number of correctly guessed cases when the perpetrators and those who are behind all of this, open their archives.

Harrogate Town's players warm up at Wetherby Road ahead of a goalless draw with League Two rivals Stevenage.

On paper, this was third against 21st. On the pitch, it looked like 21st against third. Stevenage saw three efforts cleared off the line: two in a first half they dominated; a third deep in stoppage time at the end of the match. After the break, an improved Harrogate had the lion's share of possession and territory but never looked like scoring.

To baffled silence, in-form striker Luke Armstrong was announced as the sponsors' home man of the match. I suppose he did have the Sulphurites' only two shots at goal. The first, in the 10th minute, was actually on target. Keeper Joseph Anang made a diving save. I'd have given the award to Town captain Josh Falkingham. At least he played with urgency and purpose.

Efforts cleared off the line by Harrogate defenders came from Brad Barry (making his debut in the Football League), Jamie Reid and, at the death, Bruno Andrade.

Even if I didn't have the date constantly displayed on the bottom of my computer screen I'd know just by glancing at my Wordpress statistics that the Fifth of November is approaching.

I'm now scraping the barrel to find photographs from my own negatives suitable for illustrating my annual reminder of bonfires past. This is one taken in 1972 and shows two of the youngsters who were resident that week posing with our Guy. The location was the main front entrance of the "Jane Hodge Holiday Home" and I worked there from the age of 19 in 1968, a couple of months after it first opened, until September 1974 when lack of funds forced the home to close.
