After the crash I was curious about fatality statistics surrounding motorcycle-deer crashes. I had no idea the fatality rate was this high. These statistics are also rising.

Not a bad photograph for this milestone . . . a meditation on the theme of multiplicity.
The question being . . . just how unique (or beautiful) is this particular photo? Before Flickr, I might have thought it was quite so. After two years here, I'm not sure I know.

Bungee jumping isn't a normal topic in school, but it was a major focus in Mr. Smith's Probability and Statistics class from Nov. 11-12, 2024. His students used scatter plots and regression models to approximate the appropriate length of a bungee cord made out of rubber bands. The goal was to help dolls attached to the bungee cords reach a target height during a jump from the track level of the Fieldhouse.
Some groups miscalculated and hit the gym floor, while others nailed the perfect distance. Regardless of the outcome, it was a fun and informative activity!
I hadn't been paying attention that close to the number, but before I left home this morning I clicked on my stats and saw I was just over the 2-million mark.
It took me 14-months to get from the 1-million to 2-million mark. Thanks everyone!
