From behind the house we have open fields which, when harvested, are full of the round hay bales we see today. Looking along the tracks that run between Aberdeen and Inverness there is Kintore Station, which is very handy now for getting to/from Aberdeen.

Tōkyō Station (Japanese: 東京駅) is a major railway station in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. The original station is located in Chiyoda's Marunouchi business district near the Imperial Palace grounds. The newer Eastern extension is not far from the Ginza commercial district. Due to the large area covered by the station, it is divided into the Marunouchi (west) and Yaesu (east) sides in its directional signage.

The station opened in 1914 as an integrated terminus for the present-day Tōkaidō Line, Tōhoku Line, and later the Chūō Line, which previously had separate termini in Tokyo. Since then, it has served as the main terminus for inter-city trains departing Tokyo westwards. The station was badly damaged during the Bombing of Tokyo on 25 May 1945 but soon resumed service. The Tōkaidō Shinkansen, the world’s first dedicated high-speed rail system, opened between the station and Osaka in 1964. With the extension of northbound Shinkansen lines from Ueno in 1991, the station also became a gateway to northeast Japan.

Served by the high-speed rail lines of the Shinkansen network, Tōkyō Station is the main inter-city rail terminal in Tokyo. It is the busiest station in Japan in terms of scheduled trains, with more than 4,000 trains arriving and departing daily, and the fifth-busiest in eastern Japan in terms of passenger throughput; on average, more than 500,000 people use Tōkyō Station every day. The station is also served by many regional commuter lines of Japan Railways, as well as the Tokyo Metro network.

2013 was the last year of excistance for the old station of Nijverdal. Before the station was turned into a road I went to take some pictures during a free hour on school on the 15-02-2013. I waited on the commuter train and while waiting several pictures of the old situation was made. Here we see track 1 while the trains still run daily from track two.

Arnhem Central Station is the central station of Arnhem and chronologically the fourth in the capital of the province of Gelderland. It has approximately 38,000 boarding and alighting from railway trains (excluding travelers from other rail carriers) daily passenger numbers in the 14th station of the Netherlands, Nijmegen and after the busiest of the county railway station. The main railway station is one of six Dutch world stations. Arnhem Centraal is the main hub of public transportation in the eastern Netherlands and rail traffic with Germany, Utrecht, Zwolle, Nijmegen, Tiel and the Achterhoek. Moreover, it is a big switch button for urban and regional transport in Gelderland. The current station dates from 2015 and was designed by Ben van Berkel.

Hua Hin Railway Station is located minutes from the city centre and you can easily take a stroll and view it on the way to the central night market, which is just a few blocks away. The train station is a tourist landmark both for foreign and local tourists, but also still serves as the main rail link between Bangkok and the South of Thailand. The train station is so famous in Thailand it’s image is often depicted in Souvenirs and is synonymous with Hua Hin City.

The Hua Hin Railway station is one of the oldest stations in Thailand, the original structure was built in 1910 in Nakhon Pathom for the Sanam Chandra Palace for the Royal Family. In 1967 Colonel Chulacharit relocated the original structure from Sanam Chandra Palace to its current location making it the VIP room for the Royals when they needed to travel by train to or from Hua Hin. To this day, you can view the original portion built for the Royal family, now called the Royal Waiting room, inside the station compound

The historic Califon train station was built around 1875 with locally quarried stone and volunteer labor, replacing a small wooden structure erected by the Central Railroad of NJ. This line was abandoned in 1976 when CNJ became part of the Conrail system. The track was removed in 1980 and the right of way now serves as a walking and bicycle route.

Lambrate is a quite important suburban Milan district. Its bus & train station is a crowded melting pot. In this long exposition shot I tried to convey the concept of everyday recurring journey. Exporing urban districts is my new project! Follow me for more, also at: ift.tt/1FRhs1o

I would imagine Dingee Station in central Victoria once saw steam locomotives passing through as it has been around since the late 1800s. It is offiically known as the least used station in Victoria with as little as 100 people a year making use of it. It is located part way along the Melbourne to Swan Hill line.

This is a pseudo forced perspective of my little N scale loco sitting in front of the image of Dingee station, but this time, instead of using one of my own images as a backdrop, this shot was supplied with the kind permission of fellow flickrite Peter Stokes.

Some of you may be well aware of Peter's photostream as it is one of the most extensive collections of images from all round Australia that I have seen. His great work can be seen here.

These "pseudo" forced perspective shots are taken with my models sitting directly in front of my 5K monitor that displays the background shot and what you see is usually just a single shot straight from the camera, but with a little cropping and only some minor exposure adjustments applied. Occasionally I will do a focus stack if I cannot manage to get everything sharp with a small aperture. Other than an odd focus stack, they are never composite images. In this case, I chose the nostalgic black and white treatment. I will post the full colour one soon. They are actually a little harder to do than the real forced perspective shots where my models are outdoors, sitting in the same daylight as the background. With these indoor ones, I have to try and match the lighting conditions as well as the perspective. Quite challenging sometimes as I try to match the apparent position of the sun, the colour temperature of the light and many other little things. This one took a while to set up and quite a few failed shots before I managed to get the right balance of light between my light on the model train and the brightness of the background monitor. If I remember, I will also try and remember to do a "making of" shot on my next one.

As boats are the main transport in Venice, the petrol station is set up for boats and is on the shore in Venice's Cannaregio District.

I went down to the city yesterday to check out the new Metro Stations. After spending a huge amount of money the 5 stations are now open with the trains running on a 10am - 5pm timetable while they ease the new stops into the timetable. The stations are large, orange decorated and clean. The platforms use automatic doors and floor to ceiling screens to stop customers from jumping onto the tracks as well as reducing the wind draft into the station (more energy efficient!). At the moment the helpful Metro staff are rostered on to help customers navigate the new system and linkages to the old Metro stations Flinders Street and Melbourne Central.

While the platforms have these orange trims, the entrances to the stations are of differing colours and structures.
