Shortly before the North American Cycle Courier Championships in 2011, Bastrop, Texas, burned to a crisp in a hellish wildfire. Two years later the park is still coming back, as it will be for decades to come.

The Special Collections Gallery in the D.H. Hill Library presents a display on the history of the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at NC State. The college celebrates its 50th year although constituent disciplines have been part of the university since its founding. The world's first all-electric guitar was created at by NC State student Sidney Wilson in the 1940s.

Beautiful stone statehouse. Eyebrow windows, ivy crawling up tihe walls, window boxes, corner chapels, heavy woodwork paneling, and stained glass greeted us inside. Plenty of closeups on this too!
2006 Quedlinberg Germany, an UNESCO world heritage site. Castle started in about 900 AD, but town has buildings that are all from the middle ages. They're mostly restored and this is where I discovered many joys.
