in der Brandenburger Buchheide, mitten im Wald, liegt ein großes Bauwerk: Das MfS liess hier ein Wellnesshotel für seine verdienten Mitarbeiter bauen.
Während das Bettenhaus in herkommlicher Plattenbauweise errichtet wurde, so wurde der angefügte Restaurant- und Wellnessbereich vergleichsweise aufwändig und unkonventionell gebaut.
Hierzu wurden Spezialfenster aus Schweden mit Devisen eingekauft und verbaut.
Aus Planungsunterlagen des MfS geht hervor, das für das Hotel sogar Sportwaffen beschafft werden sollten.
Die Anlieferung des Hotels war so konstruiert, das man von aussen nicht sehen konnte, was angeliefert wurde.
Das Hotel sollte 1990 fertiggestellt werden. Doch die politische Lage führte schon 1989 dazu, dass der Bau gestoppt wurde.
Das Hotel ist nie fertig geworden.

Das war eine der "Versuchsanstalten der Stasi" hier wurden Fußbodenbelege entwickelt, die das "lautlose" Gehen ermöglichten. Gefangene sollten mit allen Sinnen desorientiert werden und auch keine Möglichkeit haben mitzubekommen, wenn Wärter oder Gefangene an ihren Zellen vorbei gingen. Hier wurden auch Kontaktgifte, Betäubungsmittel usw. entwickelt um Personen zu töten oder anderweitig aus zu schalten, um nur einiges zu nennen.

Old Town
Old Town is a district in the city proper of Paprihaven so named for the age of the structures. No one knows how old the structures are as the Firm Stasis phenomena prevents testing, but it is known that the buildings of Old Town predate the rest of Paprihaven. The only other known structure in Paprihaven as a whole with the same characteristics is the Queen's Castle. The city proper of Paprihaven grew and developed around Old Town as the Firm Stasis phenomenon was discovered and named by Clark Savage, Jr.
The Firm Stasis
It did not take long to discover that there was something different about the city-structure of Old Town. The buildings, streets, pipes and other stationary parts of the district are quite stationary. It began with new residents attempting to make changes, such as adding a latch to a door or removing a sink. Nothing could be moved. In fact the structures could not be moved or damaged at all. Clark Savage, Jr., or 'Doc Savage', investigated the phenomena and found that there was no subatomic activity registering in the stone, wood, metal, and other materials that comprised the structures. It was as if the buildings were absolutely frozen in their current state of existence. Doc Savage coined the term "Firm Stasis" and subsequent researchers accepted it.
Doc Savage purchased one of the buildings to use as his home and headquarters. Lamont Cranston, another wealthy adventurer followed suit, purchasing one of the homes. Many of the buildings are noted to be characteristic of a Victorian era style.
In the first Rift War, Unger unleashed two gigantic androids known as Vistal and Nieraphon. Towering at 200'/60m in height, these beings possessed incredible destructive power and leveled much of Paprihaven with their energy beams. When they reached Old Town, however, their attacks were unsuccessful. No matter how much power they released, the buildings of Old Town remained unscathed.
After the Rift War, Bruce Wayne joined Savage and Cranston in Old Town, purchasing a manor of his own. More research was done as, now after the destruction of the war, the contrast was stark with much of the Paprihaven city leveled while no damage at all could be found in Old Town. Superman agreed to assist and tested his own legendary strength. His most powerful blows did not dislodge a fleck from the buildings. What was even more interesting was that there was no feedback from the impact. Equipment designed by Savage and Wayne was able to record and measure the kinetic energy being dispersed along quantum fields beyond the Paprihaven plane of existence.
While the Firm Stasis phenomenon is amazing, its very nature limited the methods of testing available and so actual research ended quickly, with only theoretical research from that point. Wayne, Cranston and Savage have never ceased in their desire to understand, and have exerted their considerable influence since the Rift War, becoming known as the 'Elders of Old Town'.

Whilst laying in bed last night I noticed a piece of photography paraphernalia stashed in one of my many corners dotted around the house. I believe it's called a speed ring. So tonight's shot was based around that.
Speed ring framed and centered at minimum focus distance on the Minolta 50mm. Next swap lens to the Pentax 28mm and the large diffuser hung in front. I next centered a sheet of a3 card stuck on with a bowl sized circle cut from the middle and the falling man stuck mid frame. Tested exposure for both elements and set to.
Lit the falling man from behind for 1 second with a green led, cap on and moved the sheet of diffusion material. Swapped lenses to the Pentax, cap off and side lit the speed ring from left and right in blue and red, mid exposure aperture change to f22 and waved the lightpainting brushes black fibers around the periphery of the speed ring to fill the frame.
