Pathetic attempt at star trails... forgot to turn the noise reduction off, so instead of stacking 230 images, I stacked 115 with plenty of gaps.

I tried this out tonight,didn't go as well as I'd have liked but I'm happy enough for my first try,I can only get better ;)
(If anyone has any tips please let me know!)
2nd attempt at star trails, trying the stacking method with this one, seems to bring out the trails better than the long exposure shot

Startrails at South Window in the beautiful Arches National Park (Utah). Stack of 20 photos, each shot: 20 seconds exposure at ISO 2000 with 18mm f/4 lens on a Nikon D7000. Landscape is illuminated by the First Quarter Moon.

The 150 year old oak tree is famous from the belgian TV series "De Smaak van de Keyser" (The taste of the emperor).

The one trail in yellow is of red giant star Betelgeuse in constellation Orion which can go to supernova anytime :)
At its current distance from Earth, such a supernova explosion would be the brightest recorded, outshining the Moon in the night sky and becoming easily visible in broad daylight :D
Unbelievable! I can shoot stars in downtown. Everybody know that Hong Kong has serious air and light pollution, so this chance is very rare!
