A learning curve on Live Composite I was covering the lens when a car would come by. It was working, but with a small gap in the trail. I grabbed my sweater, not my coat and the headlights got me. When I saw my other photo was in explore, I had to post this one to. Practice, timing, and failures will make you want it even more! Keep shooting!
Torpedo Station, Gdynia, Poland.
Fuji GFX 100s II, GF 20-35
50 min exposure
As long as the nights stay warm, it’s worth taking the chance for some night shots. It’s much more pleasant to spend hours by the shore when the temperature doesn’t drop below 15°C The moon, just two days before full, gave off more than enough light, but with the forecast calling for clouds in the following days, I had to take what nature offered.
Was shooting a series of images for a startrail, one of them I managed to shoot a Perseids meteor on :) Only about 30 minutes of photos, was a cold night.
super cold weather just left Hong Kong, rain and clouds gone finally, gave us a clear sky before sunrise!
At The Old Rusted Cadillac West Of Rochelle, Illinois, I took a whole bunch of photos to increase my chances of catching some meteors. I Also rented the FANTASTIC Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 for the weekend which was a totally excellent experience. Although I only captured a couple small ones on "film", I was left with hundreds of images from a single location/focus/etc.
There are 2 obvious ways to deal with this.
1: Startrail photos.
2: Timelapse.
I plan on putting together a number of both as well as some composites from the previous night at Fermilab.
Plan on seeing more in the next week or two =]
It was a super fun time.
My first try with Star Trails. I really like that picture. Hopefully you too.
Have a great week.

1 hour exposure of the Norwegian sky. Shot with Fuji Superia 100, pushed to 200. Scanned with Nicon Coolscan V.
Unfortunately I stored this neg badly for 10 years which shows in the image quality.
Camera was an old EOS 300, cannot remember the lens but my guess would be a 50/1.8.
Nikon D7000, Samyang 8mm Fisheye
Last night was such a clear and crisp night I had to head out and see what I could get with MushroomLloyd. We settled on some star trails at Ravensworth Castle, neither of us had been there before and it seemed like a good spot to get to away from the worst of the light pollution.
We managed to get over half an hours worth of shots before one of the gamekeepers from the estate caught us, after deciding we weren't poachers he drove us off the estate and in the process saved us a good 20 minute walk back to the car, but did say that it might have been a better idea to get permission first so maybe next time we'll ask first ;)

My first try to shoot startrails. This picture is taken from the Heiligenbergturm. It was made with the LiveComposite Modus from Olympus. What you see here are 120 pictures with each 60 second exposure, combined into one picture.
I wish you all a happy new year.
