After my attempt to get a meteor photo I was left with hundreds of photos from the same perspective. Star Trail lemonade! Added the foreground from a previous shoot that was taken at sunset. Edited the tones and exposure to make it look as if it was taken at night.
As I'm moving house in about a month this may be the last trail I take from the South West London home I've lived in for the past 11 years. My new garden is 3 times the size so less of a problem with houses and trees but I'll miss this one nonetheless.

Double Arch, Arches National Park. My Flickr friend Don Cook and I went out to do the night sky through Double Arch but we spent so much time uh trying to get the light painting down that I used up my hour I had planned to do a startrail. So I went back a couple of nights later. The sky had some light clouds passing through, accounting for the distortion particularly on the planet at the far left. All in all, it was still a lovely evening.

A composite of images stacked to create star trails descending over Lake Louise and Victoria Glacier in Banff National Park, Alberta, August 29, 2016. The Milky Way forms the bright band and the bright star at top is Altair.
The sky comes from about 100 frames stacked with a Lighten mode blend to create the star trails, while the ground comes from a stack of 8 images averaged to smooth noise. A master dark frame was applied to reduce discoloration. Each exposure was 10 seconds at f/1.6 with the Sigma 20mm lens and Nikon D750 at ISO 6400. The frames were shot as part of a 300-frame time-lapse sequence.
Stacking was with the Advanced Stacker Plus actions from StarCircleAcademy using the Streaks effect which automatically blends lower layers at decreasing opacity to produce the tapering effect. See my Star Trail tutorial at www.amazingsky.com/free-tutorials.html for how to do star trail effects.
