Spot the large cross on the top of the mountain.
The glass window and door of the church are lighted from the inside by the burning candles.
No light pollution makes for great evening images.
Canopus is the brightest star in the southern constellation of Carina, and the second-brightest star in the night-time sky, after Sirius. Can only be seen below the 37 latitude.

I could not pass-up photographing the Milky Way Galactic Core at Joshua Tree N.P. The sun set early and the galactic center was visible by 7:30 p.m. in October. I was able to take several images before being spooked by curious coyotes. Here, I took two pano shots and used a flash light set at a low level to illuminate the foreground. There was a fair amount of light pollution in the background and two Orionid meteors made appearances during the exposures. Used Lightroom and Photoshop to merge and develop the images. The mill complex in the Streefkerk polder has a history dating back to 1514, when the drainage of polder water from the Lek River began using mills. At the beginning of the 18th century, there were two upper mills and three lower mills. Using stepped pumping systems, the lower mills drained the water into the lower reservoir. A sluice in the Tiendweg road discharged the water into the upper reservoir. The water in this upper reservoir was discharged into the Lek River when the river level was low. In 1951, the drainage was taken over by an electric pumping station east of the village of Streefkerk. The drainage sluice in the Lek dike was closed, and the embankments of the reservoirs were (partially) excavated, after which the land was used for agriculture. This night sky image was taken last year near Immokalee and Big Cypress National Preserve in South Florida. The red light painting on the palm tree was accidental with my head lamp. I like the unexpected result though. Hope it is well received!

Got up this morning at 3:15 AM. Arrival in the foothills (elevation 1500 m) at: 4:00 AM. Arrival at selected area at 4:45 AM after climbing up to 1700 m. The snow was hard and icy. Spent roughly one hour making photographs up there. This is one of the last frames at dawnbreak...at around 5:45 AM
That is one of night shots taken from Washington Pass Overlook in the summer.

Oh Starry Night..
Last year in early spring i awoke in the middle of the night unable to get back to sleep i looked out the front window and noticed how may stars were out. so i grabbed my camera and took a few shots.
