We Want to Go Back! But #OnlyWhenItsSafe!

Teachers protested at a socially distant standout to call on Governor Baker to take action in support of safe and healthy public schools and colleges. Supporters urged Governor Baker to:

1. Establish a uniform requirement for all districts to start the year with a comprehensive distance learning plan. Provide immediate support for access to the internet where it is lacking.

2. Set clear health and safety standards that must be met for the gradual return of in-person learning, including:

•Indoor air quality and ventilation in school buildings that meet appropriate regulatory and industry standards.

•Rapid COVID-19 testing that is accessible, routine, and free to students and staff.

•Community and public health benchmarks are established, met, and reported transparently.

Former Leake Academy golf standout Tristan Hernandez (seated left) recently signed a national letter of intent to continue his career at East Central Community College in Decatur. Shown with the new ECCC Warrior are (seated at right) his mother, Jacqueline Hernandez, and (standing from left) LA golf coach Phil Shepard and athletic director Brian Pickens. Hernandez has received numerous awards and honors during his high school career. He was selected most valuable golfer at Leake Academy for the past four years. As a sophomore in 2012, he won medalist honors at the MAIS North AA State Tournament and later placed fourth in the MAIS State Tournament. Hernandez has been a member of the Mississippi Junior Golf Association (MJGA) since 2008. Over the past six years, he has played in more than 42 MJGA events and accumulated four wins and 25 top-five finishes. He has been a member of the three MJGA Junior Cup teams, two Mississippi vs Louisiana Cup teams, and was also a part of Team Mississippi that represented the state in the first Southern States Junior Cup Matches, which featured teams from Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. At age 13 in 2009, Hernandez won top honors in his MJGA age division. He also won numerous long drive competitions with MJGA. He made the cut in the State Amateur Golf Tournaments held in 2012 at Reunion Golf Course and in 2013 at the Grand Bear. His most recent tournament win occurred at Elm Lake Golf Course in Columbus with his high school team. Hernandez is also the son of Chris Hernandez. Chris Clark serves as ECCC golf coach. The standout, unique feature of the HotmixPRO Gastro, is its ability to process many types of food when hot - up to 190°C (374°F), including the caramelization of the sugar, such as creams, sauces, and jams, for example - avoiding the many intermediate steps involved when preparing recipes that require constant attention and repeated handling to ensure a successful outcome.

The convenience factor is that all the ingredients can be put into the bowl and the desired end-result achieved with minimum difficulty, thanks to the ultra-precise temperature control, electronically storing one's own recipes in a simple and direct way.

The HotmixPRO Gastro will also mix the contents of the bowl steadily and uniformly, at the exact speed selected, so that a faultless preparation is assured every time.

Given the facility of setting and maintaining an ideal temperature, preparations can proceed without any pointless waste of time, which in turn guarantees that quality will never fall below expectations.
