Stealth, stamina, power, patience, speed, sound, smell and sight - these are all techniques used by predators when hunting. But it doesn't always work.

Lions are the most opportunistic hunters, killing whatever crosses their path or walks into them while they are sleeping. In many areas of Africa lions have adapted to hunting a particular prey species. In these areas the success rate is higher than areas where they hunt a range of prey species. This is due to the fact that they get better with practice at one species.

Lions are the most powerful predator and they live in prides, making it easier to kill larger prey. Despite this Lions are of the least successful predators and in many areas they scavenge more than they kill.

In studies across Africa Lions rank low on the success scale and in some areas they are at less than twenty percent success rate. They are powerful enough to steal the kills of all other predators and will take carrion that is days old.

I went to the beach today to watch the sunset but the clouds was blocking the view >__<...It's been a while since I went to the beach to just relax. I took a couple of shots here and there but I like this one for some reason. It has the tilt shift (Did I spell that right?) feeling but sadly my attempt to capture the paddlers with the sunset along didn't happened.

Anyways, I hope someday I could paddle with these guys. It's fun and it's a good work out but you need a lot of stamina.

BTW...feel free to download this photo =)...

Some of the Ivansson brother's collected car wrecks. Around 1000 of them scattered in the forest on their property in the western part of Värmland, Sweden. Just a few km's from the border with Norway.

Many of the cars were bought in the late 40's and early 50's from Central Europe, being left by American soldiers turning back home.

And even more 60's and 70's cars rest here.

This one's special. The birch tree entered the open left driver's door, continued through the front part of the car and breached through the closed window of the passenger side. And then went right up to heaven. Nothing will resist the force of nature.

In the background the house where the Ivansson brothers lived. True vagabonds, both of them. Their scrap metal business ended in the 90's and now both of them are dead.

DESERT DREAM – OMAR AKRAM

I am a Bactrian Camel

oh yes, I'll have you know

my weight is borne equally

on my third and fourth toes

I am an even-toed ungulate

or so the story goes

I am far superior to

the one-humped dromedary

I'm from ancient Bactria;

I'm kind and soft and hairy

my fur is like a teddy bear,

but don't cuddle me; be wary!

I am silky soft like my ancestors

who travelled the Silk Road

climbing up high mountains;

cold; carrying their heavy load

or moving across inhospitable deserts;

screeching in camel code

I am feeling very lazy today

relaxing in the rain

it's stopped a little while;

these tourists are such a pain

leaning out their windows

taking my portrait again and again

I am sighing with contentment

as they pass me by

there is no resentment;

I pretend to them I'm shy

showing them the back of me;

well that's as much as I can try

I doze; I dream; I long to be

in the silence of the night

but oh those shrieking jackanapes

now hidden from my sight

I fall asleep at last and wait

for the new dawn to break light.

Thanks for visiting. I am very grateful for the very kind comments and faves.

Since returning home I am experiencing a lot of computer and internet connection problems. It is very frustrating. I comment a few pictures and then have to reboot or constantly refresh the page and then the comment does not always print. I do not know if it is problems with Flickr or my internet or with my computer or a combination of all three, but I do apologise sincerely and will try to catch up as and when I can. Thank you for your patience with me <3

New York wandering in the past

SD1Merrill + APO MACRO 180mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM

Alter Ego: Mutiny

Name: Orœ's Andklim

Allegiance: Villain

Powers:

His alien biology allows him:

* Superstrength and Durability

* Longevity

* Enhanced stamina and Reflexes

* Photosynthesis on all colour spectrums.

Weapons:

* Solar suit to enhance his respiration rate and food intake. This suit also repairs broken bones and acts as a healing factor.

* Neural linked Detachable Robotic arm

Key Weakness: His great fear of fire, the mention of it alone makes him panic.

Origin:

Orœ was once a notorious space pirate Captain who was so ruthless and cunning he had bounty hunters on the run. His rage and fury was enough to put fear equally into the hearts of both his foes and his crew alike. However, on one fateful sunrise a newly recruited pirate displayed his fire breathing abilities sending Orœ into a petrified state making him terrified to the core. This display of weakness caused his own crew to question his role as Captain and they staged a mutiny whilst he slumbered. Orœ wasn't letting his story end like that though, betrayed and killed by his own crew. He slaughtered them all by himself, he wasn't feared for nothing. During the battle however his trusty ship was damaged and he was forced to land it on the closest hospitable planet which orbited a sun so he could survive. The crash cost him his arm but not his life, from that night onwards Orœ was no longer a captain. As what is a Captain without a crew?

Orœ now goes by the alias Mutiny, as a reminder of how misplaced trust can cost a man. He also was able to steal the available tech from various sources on Earth to build himself a replacement arm. Mutiny is currently searching Earth for a purpose but thus far has only found trouble with local heroes due to his mannerism and appearance not exactly being law abiding.

Name: Shawn Mansfield (Human)

Z'chazak (Spirit)

Powers: Shawn: Above average agility, stamina, and knowledge of mystical artifacts

Z'chazak: Near-immortality, magic, extreme cunning, intellect, willpower and influence.

Weaknesses: Shawn: You name it. He is human, after all XD

Z'chazak: Overconfidence, powerless without a human form, bound to the mask bearing his name. Destroying it will destroy his spirit.

Origin: Shawn Mansfield was a well-respected archeologist. One day, while exploring an ancient South American temple, he stumbled upon a room containing strange paintings on the walls and an ornate mask resting on a pedestal. As he picked the mask up, he was filled with an uncontrollable desire to put it on. Doing so, Shawn was overwhelmed with power and blacked out. Upon waking, Mansfield discovered he was no longer in control of his actions. The mask had granted him immense magical power, but it also took away his free will. From what Shawn could gather, he had inadvertently freed the jungle spirit Z'chazak, an ancient evil imprisoned for the last 500 years. Now that Z'chazak is free, it is only a matter of time before he takes revenge on the human race for imprisoning him.

Blooming in spite of frost point temperature, a natural frost flower :-) - it's the third successive frost night now without any consequences or damage.

It was a beautiful Spring Day and I had to go out on an errand. I am certainly not fully healed yet, but am out of pain, at least. I thought to test my stamina by taking out my fully loaded camera to check for eagles. The only eagle I saw while being there for an hour, was at extreme range and didn't give me enough pixels to work with once I loaded the raw files on my computer.

Once I got home, I noticed that I had access to my little patch of crocuses, without having to climb through snow still on the ground. I sat down on a tarp, the camera mounted on a 'table-top' tripod, and the articulating screen pointed up, nice and comfy with no strain on my back. This was one of the shots that I took of my little patch of crocuses. Like usual, the first shot I take of them implies a snow storm will be coming within the week, and that is confirmed by our weather forecast.

Spring brings Nature's Revival, and I hope all of you have a great one, with health and happiness.

The kids then fought in lumps for the rest of the day.
