First day using my Nikon; trying out selective focus for the first time.

This was a rehearsal for a 15-20 minute solo devised piece that had one of those interesting-but-confusing messages where a pretty girl who wears a lot of makeup, dyes her hair an unnatural colour and wears trendy fashion tells you that you don't need to do those things in order to be a real woman like she is. I'm never sure which layer of meaning I'm supposed to stop at, or even if they're meant to be ironic at all.

Anyway, apart from the performer, this was a 'nobody here but us crew' situation.

Since this postcard was produced, the interior has been re-painted, with a "sky" ceiling, and a lighting booth, has been built in the gallery,at the rear.

Entrance to and from the "pit" was via the door bottom left. In the foreground, the musician's pit.
