The "before". Stage hands, riggers, master electricians and lighting directors build the roof and stage for the summer season of the Tulalip Amphitheater.
With covid-19 restricting stage performances, the dancers and I gathered in the theater.
I set up the stage lights and illuminated the stage. She danced single-mindedly (and not necessarily violently).
This was our work, our breath, our way of life.

Since this postcard was produced, the theatre has been repainted, and modernised. The stage curtain has been replaced with a rolling "Act Drop".
I was honoured to shoot a stage full of talent at the Railway Club in downtown Vancouver.
The night was called Lilith Fair, Almost There because most of the performers had entered the competition to play Lilith Fair as upcoming female musicians, and all had placed in the top six!
They decided they loved each other's work and wanted to perform together, essentially playing in the round, singing, harmonizing, and backing one another up on each other's songs. It was a beautiful and powerful night.
