I had the opportunity to do some of the photography for the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers concert at Holy Names University in Oakland. The group always puts on a great show and Alasdair Fraser brings out the best in them.
This is all available light photography, shot at very high ISOs (around 6400),
Bel Canto is a Norwegian band started in 1985 by Anneli Drecker, Nils Johansen and Geir Jenssen. After releasing two albums, Geir left the band to start the ambient project Biosphere. Anneli and Nils continued and had huge success in the 90s with the band.
After 2002 the band went on hiatus, and Anneli has had a successful solo career, as well as singing with huge bands like A-ha and Röyksopp. She's also a researcher and lecturer at two Norwegian universities. Nils is training to be a doctor!
Last year they reunited, and this summer they are touring some festivals in Norway. Saturday 14th of July they did a concert at the pre-festival weekend of Molde International Jazz Festival. And it was a great concert! I really realised how much I had missed seeing them live.

I took this photo in 2005 a few days before the system was removed. These dimmers are still in use, although they are on the opposite end of the theatre. The bottom of the three dimmer packs houses 6000 watt dimmers and had 50 amp breakers. The 50amp breakers are fine for the old use since each circuit that was patched into the pack had 20amp breakers, but when it was moved we had to dumb down its capacity to 20amps since it was being used only for houselights.

I made this light kit for my buddy Daniel's birthday for him and his band to use at shows.
This is the control panel, it has three dimmer switches in one gang box bolted and connected to three coresponding outlets in another gang box.
