Seen a few rock stacking on the Appalachian trail, near Mcaffee knob in Virginia. I think stacking rocks has been a pastime since humans could pick up rocks...

A stack of chairs outside Mortons on Byres Road. Mortons is a fantastic little cafe and its pretty cheap too - if they scrapped the expensive wifi it would be perfect for my pre-lecture coffee.

Stacked (2 frames) with CombineZP.
In order to preserve the overall brown I avoided messing with the colour balance. Couldn't take a version with the antennae on focus. There are a couple of blurs there corresponding to them.
Obtido pela combinação de duas fotos no CombineZP. De modo a preservar o marrom geral, evitei mexer com o equilíbrio de cores. Não consegui uma versão mostrando as antenas. Há uns borrões na imagem que correspondem a elas.
Created from 10 x 10 second exposures stacked using sequator.
Its my first attempt at anything like this, and overdone for my taste so will probably have another go at processing it with more family-friendly settings

I absolutely love the texture of this print. I couldn't help but take a few shots, something about it drew me in. I'm such a fiend for old abandoned things, they all have their stories.

306.366: So I've heard about focus stacking before when I've seen other people publish their macro shots. But I never really looked into how to do it. I took a stab at it tonight but didn't have the success I thought I would have so I will definitely be trying it again. I ended up having to re-layer and blend some of the composite frames to make it more crisp. Maybe I missed a focal length and CS6 couldn't blend it together properly. I'm not really sure. But I liked it enough to share with you all.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Stack of white hand towels for drying your hands in the ladies' at the Barr Al Jissah Resorts & Spa, owned by the Shangrila group. The bowl they're in is glittery gold and resting on a clawed stand.
This was taken from a footbridge in the High Line Park in NYC.
The steward was ushering people on so as not to clog up the gangway, but the view of this car park was on one side and a panoramic view of the High Line was on the other so photographers weren't really listening.

A small sugar ant composite based on 30 individual photos; its my first image using my diy automatic macro machine
The machine essentially moves the camera in very small increments via a stepper motor and takes a picture at each position. Its all controlled over USB using some hardware and software I built myself.
The individual pictures are stacked together in software to obtain a sharp output image.

Bacon of the South Stack lighthouse photographed by Gloria
South Stack (Welsh: Ynys Lawd) is an island situated just off Holy Island on the North West coast of Anglesey. It is famous as the location of one of Wales' most spectacular lighthouses.
My first attempt at a focus stacked macro photo. It's not perfect, but it's not bad either. The subject is the inner section of the purple cone flower or Echinacea purpurea seen here in larger form (and in a different state). Chances are I'll be doing a more refined version of this flower in the near future.
