The South Stack Lighthouse is built on the summit of a small island off the north-west coast of Holy Island, Anglesey. It was built in 1809 to warn ships of the dangerous rocks below.
These stacks are at the rear of some large houses near the Uplands shops but only visible from the rear lane. The one of the left is topped by a row of fourteen pots, quite amazing! The house on the right has another stack identical to this one. Sketching them was a great way of celebrating the first warm day of the year.
"Bronze Stack 9 - Veridian Green" is an artwork by Annie Morris. We just came across it on a visit to Wakefield. It's in a part of the city that we don't normally go to, hence not having seen it before.

Taken in the afternoon so the sun would shine thru the white panels. Will be twice the width when I'm done!
It's always fun to cook and eat with colorful bowls and plates in a colorful
kitchen. Somehow makes the food that much more enjoyable, don't you
think? My color of choice is orange, what else?? :-)

Here's my one problem I have with this quilt pattern: unless your vigilant, you'll end up with those wee slices of color at the end of the rows. Next time I'll watch for that and take in some seem allowances in the middle of the rows to leave a bigger block of color on the ends if necessary.
Stacks rider and long time friend of mine Sebo Walker is going to have a video part coming out March 15th and I got the honor of shooting the photo to promote his upcoming part. MEASUREMENTS: stacked pendant of 17mm round bead, 2x16mm disk bead, and a 7x12mm rondelle bead on a fine silver lampwork headpin, and a 21x6mm ring bail with a 10mm inner diameter. Hangs 52mm below chain/cord.

This stacked lampwork pendant has three coordinating lampwork beads hanging from a striped lampworked ring on a fine silver lampwork headpin, connected with an enameled copper wirewrapped loop.

I liked how they stack and also nest. Each one has a working key. We have the ABC and the 123, but not the other shapes.

The 91-foot (28 m)-tall lighthouse on South Stack was designed by Daniel Alexander and the main light is visible to passing vessels for 24 nmi (44 km; 28 mi), and was designed to allow safe passage for ships on the treacherous Dublin–Holyhead–Liverpool sea route. It provides the first beacon along the northern coast of Anglesey for east-bound ships.
Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse and tour the engine room and exhibition area. The lighthouse is open seasonally at the bottom of a 400 step path!
