This parent and child have just visited a free market on Union Street in Wilmington, Delaware. You don't buy things in this market. You just take what you need, and donate what you can. There are no records kept about the value of items. Some visitors, grateful for the community service this store provides, leave donations. The store is staffed by volunteers from Wilmington in Transition, an organization that is educating citizens to address the challenges of climate change and the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. As much as possible, Wilmington in Transition encourages sharing what you already have instead of buying new things.

This summer, you have to make sure that Bantayan is on your list. Aside from the danggit (or the local dried fish), the island also boasts of crystal clear waters and long stretches of white sand beaches.
The people there are friendly and accomodating. Maybe it was the island's calming and laid back environment that made us think that they seemed to have no problems at all (or design deadlines for that matter.)

During one stafe of the Redlands Classic they used to come all the way down to Lake Mathews where we live and then head up to Oak Glen. I took this the last year that they did this stage.

Two things I want to do this summer: learn how to swim and lose some weight. So that in my next summer escapade pictures, I would have an underwater picture of myself and Nemo. And I would duplicate this shot but with my shirt off while I sprawl lazily on the sand.
