I am studying the Watchtower study article this week at the beach, have a lot of time meditating here.

Sta. Fe is in the town of Bantayan Island in the northern tip of Cebu. Sta. Fe is famous of its white beaches. Even at the pier area, you can see the clear and clean waters.

You can walk thru out their beaches as there is no fence in every resort. You can lie down at the beach as you like.

Trinity cemetery was opened in 1887. It is on a large site located to the north of the city centre, near the beach adjacent to Aberdeen football stadium.

It comprises two sections. The westerly section is the larger of the two with the later 20th century easterly extension (originally a gravel pit) located on the other side of Park Road. Both sections slope upward from this road. The official main entrance is at the west end, where the cemetery lodge can be seen, with access via Errol Street.

The westerly section contains approximately 5600 stones naming a little over 14000 individuals.

The eastery extension is smaller, containing approximately 3300 stones with a little over 7300 named individuals.

The earliest date found recorded in the extension was 1891 though the vast majority of the stones date from the 1940's to the present time.

Trinity is a large 'open' cemetery consisting mainly of grass and gravel walkways. There are few bushes and even fewer trees. It is well maintained but the lack of the aforementioned trees or larger shrubs gives it a somewhat stark appearance.

The advantage of this layout however is that you can see the whole cemetery from practically anywhere within the grounds. A wonderful view can be had from the top of the cemetery, with the whole grounds before you. Beyond this lies a view of the beach and the North Sea.

In 1940 a German aircraft tried to destroy the gasometer in the adjoining gas works (the site is now occupied by an apartment complex). They failed in that quest but evidence of the 'strafing' can still be seen on some of the memorials located to the south-east of the site.

To see how this blasted chunks out of these granite memorials gives you some idea of the power behind these armaments. It must have been terrifying to be caught in such a raid.

There are just a few memorials showing artistic distinction, nearly all of which are in the original cemetery grounds. The easterly extension site is dominated by a large memorial to those who gifted their bodies to medical science. This is located at the top of the easterly section, extreme left.

The original full scale drawing for the Millennium Rose Window at St Nicholas's, Radford Semele which I drew back in early 2000 in preparation for making the window. From this completed working drawing (I don't highly finish these as they are simply a stage in the process, leaving room for fine tuning at the making/painting stafe) a tracing of the leadlines or 'cutline' was made to serve as an accurate guide for cutting and leading the glass. Various painted details were added by consulting this drawing.

The finished window (see below) was installed in July 2000 but was later totally destroyed when the church was burnt down by a deranged individual in March 2008.

To get to Bantayan Island from Cebu City, you can take an overnight boat to the Sta. Fe pier.

Another route is through land. You can travel for about 3 hours to Hagnaya, and from there ride a ferry boat for about 30 minutes to the pier...

Skimboarding or Skimming was introduced in the Philippines several years ago in Tanauan, Leyte by an American tourist from California, USA. Aside from teaching the local youngsters on how to skimboard, he also taught the locals on how to make beautifully painted skimboards.

Skimboarding or skimming can enjoyed on any beach where the shoreline is long and there is fairly good waves. In Cebu, skimboarders or skimmers usually converge in Lilo-an and Argao.

Pilipinas Sierra explores and traverses the rugged Caraballo Mountains from Sta. Fe in Nueva Vizcaya to Sta. Maria East, in Pangasinan via the historic Villa Verde Trail. From January 30, 1945, The U.S. 32nd Infantry Division (Red Arrow Division) advanced along the trail heavily fortified by the elite soldiers Japanese 14th Area Army. By May 28, 1945, about 4500 Japanese, 3200 American, and numerous Filipinos were among the casualties when the "Red Arrows" have taken Salacsac Pass.

The beauty that is called BANTAYAN ISLAND

I had the chance to visit PARADISE. An unpolluted and unpopulated version of boracay.

Bantayan is a magnificent small Island off the northwest coast of Cebu, and it's unlike any other island. Two of the main attraction of the island is its crystal-clear waters and it's long stretch of powdery white sand.

Another magnificent treat is the sunrise. Sun rises at Sta. Fe, a town in Bantayan famous for the resorts and the main pier. The colors of dusk reflect on the water like mirror, reflecting wonderful colors.

This is my series of PARADISE called BANTAYAN Island. This will be in three parts namely, sunrise, daytime and sunset.

Thanks for viewing.
