Pécs was founded by Romans at the beginning of the 2nd century. By the 4th century, it became the capital of Valeria province and a significant early Christian center. Its episcopate was founded in 1009, and the first university in Hungary was founded in Pécs in 1367.
Pécs was historically a multi-ethnic city where many cultural layers were encrusted melting different values of the history of two thousand years. Previously settled in by the Romans and later the Turks, Pécs was given the UNESCO prize Cities for peace for maintaining the cultures of the minorities in 1998, and also for its tolerant and helping attitude toward refugees of the Yugoslav Wars. In 2007 Pécs was third, in 2008 it was second Livable city (The LivCom Awards) in the category of cities between 75,000 and 200,000 inhabitants.
Testing my latest Tamron Adaptall acquisition in typical Hamburg weather on town hall square.
I wanted to catch the crossing rectangular lines on the pavement as well as the reflection caused by the wet surface.

🇺🇦A Print for Ukraine🇺🇦
Each Friday I post a discounted image for sale to benefit the children of Ukraine.
100% of the proceeds from the sale of 🇺🇦A Print for Ukraine🇺🇦are donated.
This week's print for Ukraine is number 19 in the series. It is called "Inflection Point." This is the concave facade at the northwest corner of the Rainier Square Tower in Seattle, Washington. (It is visible from the intersection of 4th Avenue and Union Street.) Through Thursday July 21, all proceeds from the sale of Inflection Point go to UNICEF for the benefit of Ukrainian children. It is available on my website here: www.brianmoorefoto.com/ukraine
"A Patronus is a kind of positive force, and for the wizard who can conjure one, it works something like a shield, with the Dementor feeding on it, rather than him. In order for it to work, you need to think of a memory. Not just any memory, a very happy memory, a very powerful memory… Allow it to fill you up... lose yourself in it... then speak the incantation "Expecto Patronum".
It only seemed fitting that I do a patronus photo after the dementor photo from yesterday. Balance of good and evil I suppose. In reality I think that my patronus would actually be the can of bug spray I brought with me to take this, it sure kept those nasty bugs away. I chose the deer for two reasons, it's what I ended up with after one of those "what's your patronus" quizzes and I actually saw a deer on my walk to this spot, it was fate! I snapped a photo him below.

For me photography is a creative tool to visualise what is hidden, just like the abandoned office building in this image. Its façade, full of squares in different sizes, immediately attracted me. Large concrete elements are subdivided by small square tiles and windows. A courtyard has the same elements, but was overgrown by trees.
In my studio I superimposed the clean outside façade with the courtyard and masked out some of the elements. The image that finally emerged has surreal qualities, with trees taking over and growing in and out of the windows. In this way it is a joyful hommage to the hidden beauty of the office complex that is no more, as the building was recently demolished. Rhythm and geometry always inspire me to shoot architecture, but in this case I successfully combined it with patterns of nature.
Art rendered from a macro photograph I took of sweat bubbles on a water bottle. Manipulated 3 layers. filters, tone and saturation, and, of course my wormy squiggle.
