There is downtown LA--sprouting like a growth, spreading like a weed on the surface of this valley. At least it was a surprisingly clear day, not too much smog to try to see through.
It has been a good winter for all brassicas here this year and the Brussels sprouts have done very well .
I love my sprouts but I have a bit of a glut at present. They do freeze well (especially if they are for frying or roasting when they come out of the freezer). With larger sprouts like these I think it is essential to halve them prior to blanching.

Saw these at the co-op and decided to try them. I've never seen Purple Brussels Sprouts before.
Brussel Sprouts ain't for everyone but I sure do like them. This little field in Half Moon Bay would have me rolling in them for the rest of my life.
Please accept my apologies for being a poor Flickr friend. I've been quite busy of late. Margaret hosted a reunion party at our house over the past weekend. Thirty or so nurses that used to work together descended on us for a rollicking party that carried on until Sunday. Hopefully, next weekend I can jump back onto the Flickr saddle.

Day 117 [4-26-2016]
A cold but beautiful walk. So not much had happened today accept for a nice long walk with a good friend of mine after my last class of the day. Due to it being the last week of classes this was the last walk her and I would be able to have so we drew it out until the last minute and said our goodbyes. It is weird that the end of this semester is actually happening but there is only good to come of that. This summer has a lot to look forward to.
Can't wait to see what the next day brings!

I refolded my Sprout Tessellation for the German Origami Convention in Erkner. Asymmetry is inspired by an earlier workshop with Melina Hermsen (Yureiko).

Happy Christmas everyone.... I brightened up Mr Sprout (taken earlier in the year) for Christmas. www.flickr.com/photos/choccupcake/20644172332/in/photolis...
These tiny seeds are fascinating and cute. This is my first attempt at growing them.

Germogli.
Quest'anno la primavera sembra tardare un po' rispetto al solito, ma la natura sta lentamente e silenziosamente lavorando per riportare un po' di sole e vitalità, come in questo ramo pieno di germogli e fiori.
Sprouts.
This year spring seems to be a little late than usual, but nature is slowly and silently working to bring back a bit of sun and vitality, as in this branch full of sprouts and flowers.

We had this cow, you see, and we traded it on Ebay. DPD weren't too happy to take it, but eventually they agreed. I'd expected to get about £500 for it, but instead the buyer sent me some seeds. I planted one today and already it's started sprouting. I wonder what it will grow into. It's already a very strong plant. I might transplant it into the garden tomorrow!
