Took my budget Sigma 70-300 APO out for a walk. I bought it second hand a while back for about US$60 and I'm surprised how well its IQ stacks up on FF. Physically it doesn't feel like a high quality item with a fairly light plastic construction and sometimes sticky zoom but that also means its relatively light and compact too.
Will post a few more shots in the next few days.
Cut off the butt ends of romaine lettuce and sweet onions, stuck them in some water.... et voila! I've had really good luck growing and harvesting the onions in outdoor pots. But the lettuce has been a bit too ornery.
Hairy sprouts growing on a catkin branch - it will be an ideal Easter decoration.

Old age is a bummer even for vegetables.

the better to see and be seen says Scarlett. Banded with her little sprouts up she doesn't miss a thing
Scarlett trivia: her ear fringe is banded to keep it dry and out of her food and water bowl. This week she's 28 weeks old, 22-1/4" tall
This model was folded from a single sheet of paper previously painted in both sides with acrylics.

I love this Riccardo Foschi’s design and had the huge pleasure and luck of making the testfold of the wonderful diagrams made by Carlos.

Small Group Weekly Challenge: Food
Who doesn't love food? As a kid, I hated brussel sprouts. Now, I can't seem to get enough. My fave is roasted sprouts with olive oil, garlic, salt and a little squeeze o' lemon. Cheers!
5E38 Barton Under Needwood to Birmingham New Street catches the early morning light as it glides past redundant track panels and neatly stacked rails which have been lifted from Washwood Heath Up Sidings. I really liked the sleeper that had sprouted a tree.
I planted some old pepper seeds in an egg carton a couple weeks back and closed it back up. Sometimes they germinate and sometimes they do not. So I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the carton and found these tiny sprouts springing to life and eager to leave the darkness of that egg carton and greet the abundant sunshine that warmed the day.
In a week or two they will shoot up and be too big to keep in the egg carton. Then they will get larger containers and spend more time on my sunny kitchen windowsill until it's time to get into this year's garden.
There is downtown LA--sprouting like a growth, spreading like a weed on the surface of this valley. At least it was a surprisingly clear day, not too much smog to try to see through.
It has been a good winter for all brassicas here this year and the Brussels sprouts have done very well .
I love my sprouts but I have a bit of a glut at present. They do freeze well (especially if they are for frying or roasting when they come out of the freezer). With larger sprouts like these I think it is essential to halve them prior to blanching.
