They don't just get to your market in clam shell containers. A lot of labor is involved. The colors of yellow, green and red were just too much to pass up, especially in the rain. San Luis Obispo, California.

Male Wood Duck, Wildwood Lake, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I have absolutely no idea what Woody has in his bill. He fished it out of the lake and carried it around for a while. Then he ate it. I've asked several people what it is and nobody knows. So since it looks like a Brussel Sprout I'm going with that. ; )

Any ideas?

Such a waste when you find them shrivelled up at the back of a cupboard...

Having little fun letting this Potato sprout,

No need to toss the spuds. If you simply cut away those colored areas and any sprouts, your potatoes will be quite safe to eat.

I was finally able to make it back up to the mountain top so that I can continue working on the Flowers series

It all looks so different up here now that things are growing and not covered in snow. I think this is the same area where I left off with Hibernation...

I'd been waiting until there were some nice detailed clouds before doing another one of these and of course they disappeared once I got up. So I did some experimenting with adding in cloud detail.

I secretly dread posting these because I have no idea how the yellowish sky looks on other computers. It usually ends up being too yellow on others so I tried to tone it down on mine. Hopefully it wasn't too much.

Macro Mondays - Smell

I just had to walk into my garden to find all kinds of choices: broccoli, Brussel sprouts and beets. Earlier in the year there would have been blueberries and blackberries. These aren't quite ready to harvest yet, too small. Hopefully they'll grow a little more soon.

All the sweetgum fruits have fallen, and it is the season of sprouting.
