I have decided to join Nina on her challenge to add a flower photo a day for 365 days.

I was busy yesterday and completely forgot to add my photo yesterday. I spotted this flower in another neighbour's garden and have no idea what it is called, but it is very pretty.

I found out the name - it is Bleeding Heart Glorybower (Clerodenrum).

Ok, promised. I will not post any more Winter photos this year.

Marlon Branda the amorous pigeon takes the leading role in this exciting waterside romance.

He is assisted by a virtually unknown bird, but after this encounter I should imagine that will soon change!!!!

Marlon took ages preening and the like he loves to look good, and twittered on about spring is in the air!!!!

This is an excusive image filmed today at the waterfront area of Eastville Park Lake, Bristol, England.

Just a little nature fun, the big pigeon was really trying his luck down by the lake today!!!

Peace & Love.

and the words that dance between people & for me, it will always be this way, walking in the light, remembering being alive together!

A snippet from the William Wordsworth

poem, Cloud

"When all at once, I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils, beside the lake beneath the trees, fluttering and dancing in the breeze."

The beauty of nature!

Purity, bliss, and solitude.

These are dwarf daffodils I photographed in my garden.

I looked up this poem and thought I should share it with everyone. It seemed very suitable for my little image.

William Wordsworth was a fantastic poet, a master words-smith for sure. He seemed someone who knew nature and how to convey it into the written word so beautifully.

These beautiful lines of poetry, although penned long, long ago still resound and could have been written only yesterday.

Took this in the garden, he spends quite a lot of time singing on this branch.

Web Translation :

A photo taken at the beginning of February.

This year, spring came really (too) early !

Since this photo was taken, the Crocuses and Primroses have bloomed and the apricot tree has already finished flowering...an another sign that everything is very early ; Peony buds are already forming while flowering, in my region, usually takes place in May !!

Photographically, is a little bit difficult to follow this "flowers party" !

The largest land animal in North America, the American Bison, serves as national mammal of the United States since May 2016. By 1880 these magnificent animals had practically disappeared from herds of 60-70 million at their peak. Thanks to public/private restoration efforts, over 200,000 bison now roam North America. This photograph of an entire herd was taken just one mile inside the Tennessee border with Kentucky within the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area at the South Bison Range. This viewing area from the roadway is elevated above the prairie and gives a unique view of the herd from a safe viewing spot. They herd near fresh grass, usually feeding early and late in the day.

The male Northern Cardinal is perhaps responsible for getting more people to open up a field guide than any other bird. They’re a perfect combination of familiarity, conspicuousness, and style: a shade of red you can’t take your eyes off. Even the brown females sport a sharp crest and warm red accents. Cardinals don’t migrate and they don’t molt into a dull plumage, so they’re still breathtaking in winter’s snowy backyards. In summer, their sweet whistles are one of the first sounds of the morning.

- Interesting Cardinal Facts -

‧ Only a few female North American songbirds sing, but the female Northern Cardinal does, and often while sitting on the nest. This may give the male information about when to bring food to the nest. A mated pair shares song phrases, but the female may sing a longer and slightly more complex song than the male.

‧ Many people are perplexed each spring by the sight of a cardinal attacking its reflection in a window, car mirror, or shiny bumper. Both males and females do this, and most often in spring and early summer when they are obsessed with defending their territory against any intruders. Birds may spend hours fighting these intruders without giving up. A few weeks later, as levels of aggressive hormones subside, these attacks should end (though one female kept up this behavior every day or so for six months without stopping).

‧ The male cardinal fiercely defends its breeding territory from other males. When a male sees its reflection in glass surfaces, it frequently will spend hours fighting the imaginary intruder.

‧ A perennial favorite among people, the Northern Cardinal is the state bird of seven states.

‧ The oldest recorded Northern Cardinal was a female, and was 15 years, 9 months old when she was found in Pennsylvania.

It was another beautiful Autumn day here in Sydney and I wandered around to my neighbour's garden late this afternoon to see if I could see any bee activity. It is becoming quite cool now, so I suppose the bees will disappear soon.

A Flickr friend of mine is entered in a competition and her photo is a beautiful display of stripy purple crocus flowers - Perseverando - Margaret Clough. Could you please give her some votes?

at the very end of winter, on the verge of spring..

These beauties won't be showing up around here until next spring.

“Have you ever looked at the bud of a magnolia flower? It’s a tight little pod that stays closed up for a long time on the end of its branch until one day, out of nowhere, it finally bursts open into this gigantic, gorgeous, fragrant flower that’s ten times bigger than the bud itself. It’s impossible to imagine that such a big beautiful thing could pop out of that tiny little bud. But it does.”

************************ PEPITE D'ENFANCE **************************
