The Myers Brothers Department Store in Springfield, Illinois, began as a general store in the city in 1865. The family later built in 1900 a five-story building at Firth and Washington downtown that was destroyed by fire in March 1924. It would be replaced by this 10-story structure that opened on Sept. 8, 1925. The store would eventually be sold twice and in 1983 was renamed Bergners for its second owner. The downtown Springfield store would close in 1989 with this sign at the top the only trace of a once proud tradition.

Rick Springfield is an Australian singer-songwriter, musician, and actor. He received the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for "Jessie's Girl". He followed with four more top 10 US hits, "I've Done Everything for You", "Don't Talk to Strangers", "Affair of the Heart" and "Love Somebody". His two US top 10 albums are Working Class Dog (1981) and Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet (1982). As an actor, he portrayed Dr. Noah Drake on the daytime drama General Hospital, from 1981 to 1983 and during 2005 to 2008.

Another shot of my Springfield TRP.

I went out to Dorris Ranch and explored a little bit. I found some very neat pioneer buidlings that provided great contrast, as well as some magnificent orcherds.

When the Simpsons Movie was announced, they planned to show the film premier at one of the Springfields in the country. A key selling point of the Springfield, TN cinema is that it's only one screen and wouldn't have to share marquee space with a second film. Located on Main St. about a block south of the town square.

(Another) Nissan Altima. A little run over..

A very unusual color scheme here, dark green with white. Not typical for Springfield. I assume it came that way and they don't see the point in paying to have a repaint done unnecessarily.

Traveled to Boston to attend baby sister’s graduation from Springfield College. While there I did a mini photo shoot with her to celebrate her accomplishment and was able to get a little sightseeing in as well. Pictured here is the campus of Springfield College
