The GFA Softball and Baseball team joined a handful of other Dragons athletic programs, taking part in spring training over the second half of our two-week break.
I do like baseball.
No really. It kinda gets under your skin like cricket does. Just one more innnings you say, and then I'll go to bed. No you won't, you're hooked.
I started watching it whilst on detachment at Nellis AFB, and those days off used to drag and baseball was almost every channel; so I started to watch not really understanding it.
And then a few years later, whilst on holiday in Massachusetts, I walked into a chowder place to see all the chefs come running out of the kitchen to look at the TV; some folks dressed in what could be PJs were exchanging punches in the bullpen. This, it turned out, as the Yankees vs the Red Sox in the play=-offs; and no love lost between them.
I followed the series, right to the seventh game, which we were convinced the mighty Sox would win.
They didn't.
But a couple of years later, I followed them all the way to the world series, winning eight straight play-off games, including coming back from 3-0 down against the evil empire.
Take me to the ball park!
Two things I'd like to see; a game at Heinz Field and watch a game from the Big Green Monster and watch the Sox tattoo the ball out the park.
