City Year Los Angeles’ third annual “Spring Break: Destination Education” fundraiser raised $1.3 million to support the work of our 275 AmeriCorps members who serve as tutors, mentors and role models to more than 4,000 students who are at risk of dropping out of school.
The family-friendly event drew the support of Hollywood celebrities, world-class brands and the Los Angeles community who turned out in force – more than 1,400 guests in total – for an evening of food, music, interactive activities and fun. Guests visited booths set up by sponsors including The Hauptman Family Foundation, JCPenney, Interscope Records, Microsoft, People Magazine, and the NFL, on the commissary lawn at the Sony Pictures studio lot in Culver City.
